Daniel walked over to Tess and gave her a confused look. Totally ignoring me. “What’s going on?”
I shook my head slightly. “I’ll tell you later. Let's just go.”
He looked at Tess again. She gave him a small, apologetic smile. “I’m fine,” she said.. “Go ahead.” before walking away. Not waiting anymore second.

As we walked, he glanced at me. “I’ve never seen Tess like that before. What happened?”
