The secrets we keep inside our minds can be the biggest enemy we face, and this is what the three teenagers who were in the park that fateful night was experiencing. Still, others were in shock because of who they were, and what they were finding out about themselves and others. Were they prepared for the missions and journeys before them? Would they be able to get prepared?
Abigail looked up at Casimir who was completely star-struck. Oberon had dark black raven hair and turquoise green eyes. He was wearing form-fitting almost swashbuckling attire, and it showed off all his assets in all the right places. Casimir let his mouth open just a moment as if to say something, but nothing came out. Oberon laughed again and slapped the boy on the shoulder. The guards lowered their spears, and everyone rose to their feet as Oberon beckoned them to do.
“You are among friends here, and friends do not kneel to one another. Now, what brings the fair maiden, Warden Abigail, and her entourage of humans into the Faelund unannounced and uninvited. Against the treaty, and against her better judgment?”
Abigail rolled her eyes. But she did kneel before him,
“Forgive my presumptuousness, but someone has destroyed the sacred grove I am the Warden of using Black Blood Magic. And, this young man is an angel, called to arise by Iridana, the chances of the two being separate somehow are very slim.”
Oberon turned, his eyes black as night all the way to the edges, and a faint light to them.
“Someone has taken over one of the Gaia’s nodes using blood magic?! This cannot be allowed to stand. Yes, we will help you in any way we can, but then we must tell you. Iridana has been captured somehow.”
Everyone who knew anything looked stunned, even Casimir assumed her being taken was a serious problem. They all began to mutter as the king motioned them into the main throne room. They’re sat Titania his wife. He introduced her, and almost seemed a matter of fact and uncaring about it. What was that all about Casimir wondered?
Meanwhile back on Earth…
Time flows differently between the Faelund and the human realm, this is how some people can go missing for almost a hundred years and not have aged even a day. Yet sometimes one could be gone for what seemed to be years, not age, and come back on the very same day they left. This was what Abigail and Jason were banking on. If Casimir and the others could be trained by the Seven Sages, they could stand a real chance of winning.
Casimir walked onto a balcony to be by himself. There his silent tears fell down his cheeks. More than anything he wanted to see his mother again, alive and well, and happy. Despite being in the closet, he wanted everything to go back to the way it was before he knew what he was. He wanted the peace in not knowing that magic and any of this were real. King Oberon laid a hand on his shoulder.
“Abigail told me what happened, I am very sorry for your loss. However, if you truly are an angel, then you must be prepared for what's coming next.”
Casimir wiped his eyes.
“What is coming next?”
“War Casimir, a war for the Earth and for the Faelund against demons and those who serve them and master them. They will try and stop people like you and me because we can prevent their schemes.”
Casimir nodded feeling the king's strong charisma and sense of duty wash over him. What was this feeling he was feeling, it was like a heart inside his chest, and yet like butterflies dancing in his stomach. He could not explain it.
Meanwhile below Rock Hill…
“Now Gary, you will show us you really mean what you say about who and what you are. We have meddlers. These teens were more powerful than we could have imagined. We need them, we want them, and we shall have them, go get them for us.”
Gary swallowed hard at the way he was told to go get them. If he did go, get them they would end up as he was. Working for the Dark Lord and doing his bidding. The real secret here is that his magic was great enough he old pretended to be brainwashed. As he prepared for his mission, he prayed that the kids would have enough power to make it look like he was taken by surprise and overpowered.
Back at the Edwards home, it has been three weeks…
There was a reward being offered for anyone who knew anything about the disappearance and later murder of various people around town, and the murders of the four police people in the park. Gene, Benton, and Rayne kept to themselves, and they sort of avoided each other, because there was only one thing on their minds, and that was what they had seen. What could they do about what had gone down? They knew what happened, but they could not go to anyone about it because they would sound like crazy loons who were playing with the Occult.
“We have to do something.”
“Like what Rayne?”
“Like we should tell an older witch exactly what happened. One who might believe us.”
“Like who?”
“My cousin we call Yoda.”
Gene and Benton exchanged looks but nodded. So, she made a phone call and a few moments later they were walking down the street towards the outskirts of town in the little trailer park. It did not take very long to walk there, and within an hour they were knocking at the man's door.
“Rainy!”
Yoda as he was called hugged Rayne and motioned everyone into the house as fast as he could. He then looked around as if he was being watched. When everyone was inside, he lit a cigarette and began to listen to their story as Rayne recounted everything which had happened then night. Yoda stood up and looked rather stern.
“That hill has always been wrong. You stay away from that hill and that magic, now you hear me. Get out of here, and don’t go poking where your nose does not belong.”
Rayne and everyone were issued out of the house and down the path. It was peculiar behaviour, but rather than push things and make more of a scene they spoke to each other as they walked back to Gene’s house. “What do you suppose that was all about?”
“I have no idea, but I intend to find out what's going on here.”
They quickened their pace as they neared the park. They did not want to find out what would happen if they were not allowed to be together and something bad happened what would they be able to do alone.
Meanwhile, at the edge of town, two young people had arrived. They were siblings from Ecuador. He was Ricardo, and she was Ariana. They had been dispatched by the Council of Witches to inspect what was going on in Dayton Washington and explain it to the Council intervening if they must. Most witches did not even know the council existed, let alone that they would enlist one witch against another, but it was important to have a police-like force, but who policed the police.
Ariana was tall for a woman about 6 feet, and Ricky was 6’5”. They were twins, and their distinguishing mark was that of the stripe of white hair right down the middle of their heads. This is a trait that the Bruja and Brujo in their family bore. Both of these young people in their twenties were talented witches, trained by the most skilled of the Council of Witches. They were prepared to manage most things.
Their repertoire of human abilities was also high. They knew martial arts, basic lock picking, etc, etc. They were trained assassins and spies and they knew how to do their job well. As they made their way to the Weindhardt Hotel on Main Street, they could already sense the odd aura about the town.
Gene lived with his grandparents because he could not get along with his mother no matter what they tried. Counseling, punishment, etc, etc., and nothing could change the fact they could not see eye to eye. His grandparents basically left him and his friends to their own devices because why not. His aunt did not really approve of this, but she had her own ideas about parenting. Ariana and the three teens were about to cross paths, and no one knew it.
