EKEOMA POV

I Stared at my gray eyes in the mirror, and I took in a deep breath, I always wondered where I got my gray eyes from, I mean none of my parents has gray eyes, as a matter of fact it's rare for a Nigerian to have gray eyes, but here we are.

My grandma always told me that I was special in all aspects, I always laughed at her whenever she starts her unending praises, but that's how I feel at this moment, I smoothed my leather jacket, I wonder if am dressing properly as I stared at my reflection, I was putting on high waisted jeans, crop top and a black jacket.

Am going to a whole new world with different people and a different way of life, I wonder what await me out there...

" EKEOMA, what are you still doing, come out now, do you want to miss your flight "

My mom's voice startled me from my thoughts,

Yh your guess is right... Am traveling to the UK today, everything's being processed both my travel expenses, living and academic expenses too

And my flight is Leaving by 10:00 am

I checked the time 9:00 on the dot, my mom has prepared everything already, she's the type of woman that can't tolerate or afford any kind of tardinesss, probably the reason she's trying to bring the house down trying to get me to leave immediately, before it's too late.

" Mom am coming"

I quickly rushed outside, to meet my family already waiting for me,

I quickly picked my phone to call Joshua

" Joshua where are you, where already leaving for the airport oo"

He replied quickly

" Don't worry you guys should go I'll meet you at the airport"

I nodded and cut the call, proceeding to enter the car with my siblings, I had three..

Kaleb was staring at me like I was going to the moon, I chuckled at his funny face...

" Don't worry I'll always call you, and it's not like I won't be coming back again"

But he just pouted and said

" That's what you always say, and then you disappear for a long time"

I laughed, Kaleb was our last born, and has a serious attachment to me, probably because I adored him more than my other siblings.

And Grace always think he's just childish

" Leave sister alone, she's going to study and get married soon anyway, how long do you think you can be with her "

Kaleb pouted even more

" Don't mind her, when I get a job in the UK I will make sure to bring you along with me"

He quickly brightened up

" Sister said she's taking me to the UK,

Mmmeee sister will not take you"

He said making faces at Grace, with Grace also making faces at him too

Meanwhile kelvin just laughed at their silly interaction

" We are here"

My dad announced, we quickly got out and into the airport, this is my first time in an airport, wow this place is beautiful.

We sat down while waiting for my stuff to be verified, we came early actually, I checked my time, we still had like Forty minutes left.

" Are you sure you didn't forget any of your files"

My mom quickly said while looking anxious

" Mom you packed those yourself, I couldn't have forgotten anything right??, Don't worry everything will don't out fine, the grace of the Almighty is with me ok "

My mom visibly relaxed, she is always worrying about me, I quickly hugged her, I really loved my mom, I could do a lot of things to make her happy.

" Hey Hwfar, you are still here naa, you were talking like you guys was already in the airport"

I quickly looked up to see Joshua coming towards us with a broad smile on his face

" Good morning ma, Good morning sir"

He quickly greeted my parents, which they simultaneously answered, and they quickly exchanged pleasantries, my family already knew Joshua before.

He turned to me smiling and said

" So like this you don't jakpa... Leave us for this naija, is alright, I go make sure I announce am for class next semester "

I smiled staring at his playful face, his always be happy and supportive towards me since I got the scholarship, God! am going to miss him

He quickly cleared his throat

" Okay listen, I watched Vivo last night, and I think this music is just for you, though it's not a love song when it directed to you, take it as a farewell message, even though it was a love song in the movie, I'll play it for you "

I stared at him as he took out his guitar from the bag and quickly positioned it properly, and cleared his throat

" your plane leaves in the morning,

I drowned out his voice trying to blink the tears away, his really going to make me cry

" When your plane lands on the

I quickly wiped my tears and sniffed, when he finished the last cord and smiled at me

I hugged him while still sniffing, I couldn't help it, am going to miss this i***t, more than I was expecting, he hugged me back, while patting my back

" I'll miss you too you know, don't worry I promise to visit you, if I ever get the chance"

An announcement broke us apart, it was time to leave, we were ordered to quickly get ready to board the plane ,

I hugged my family and headed to the plane with my luggage.

Finally am leaving my country to an unknown land, it was overwhelming, but I knew it's God's will for my life, and am ready to face whatever may come with my new environment.

I woke up with a startle, I squinted my eyes trying to get used to my sorrounding, oh right I boarded the plane, I can't believe I has been sleeping all this while, I rubbed my eyes trying to clear the sleep from my eyes, I checked the time, wow it's already 4:15, how did I sleep for six hours anyway... Am not surprised excitement couldn't let me sleep last night, I sighed

" Pls put on your seatbelt and prepare for landing..."

The announcement sounded again and again in the plane

" Already??"

I thought.

I looked out of their window, as I tried to calm down, the adrenaline was rushing through me...

"Vienna calm down, it is fine, I can do it, it literally a new environment, no big deal".

I chided myself .

We got out of the plane, with our luggage handed to us, I stepped out of the plane, and out into the airport,

Wow this place is beautiful,

" Wow everwhere con dey look like glass, Vienna you don upgrade oo"

I dragged my luggage looking frantically around in total awe...

I started looking for a white woman with my name placard or at least something for identification.

There, I saw it EKEOMA VIENNA NWANDU.

The white woman with blonde hair was smiling brightly at me, waved me over, I quickly walked over to her, she was with the others, probably the other beneficiaries.

" Welcome Vienna, we've been waiting for you, Am Mrs Becky your instructor"

She stretched out her hand for a handshake, I quickly took it smiling

" Sorry for keeping everyone"

" Ooh it's fine you are here let's go"

Yh let's go I thought, but there was one problem, I was pressed I really needed to pee like so badly,

Great now am going to be the reason we will be late, so much for a first impression...

" Excuse me can I use the rest room"

Delaying everyone is better than peeing on my clothes inside the car,

I was waiting for the woman's smiling face to contort and shout at me, but she just smiled and said

" It's on your right, pls be quick"

I nodded and walked briskly to the supposed female bathroom and relieved myself, I sighed and took in a deep breath, this is so much better.

I heard a voice in the room, someone scoffed

" I get your trying to climb the ladder by claiming you know my father, aren't you ashamed huh...

Even if you manage to enter my house , your still the illegitimate gutter rat, my father picked up "

I walked out to find a girl with mini skirt and a boot, talking down to another girl who seemed to be younger, the girl was shivering and cowering in front of the girl, the mini skirt girl shouted at her, this time I Korean

" Todalpae" (answer me)

She jumped and answered quickly, stuttering

" That's... that's not what am trying to do, he's really my father, your my step -sister..."

" Shut your gutter mouth, you piece of dirty trash, am not a sister to a b***h like you, am going to wring your neck if you ever call that name again"

It's seems like her anger has skyrocketed as she raised her hand to slap her...

My instinct quickly kicked in, and I rushed and held her hand...

" I think she gets it now, you don't have to slap her do you??"

I don't think I know what am saying, but at this point I could do anything to stop her from slapping the cowering girl, she was surprised as she stared at me with confusion written over her face

"Who are you, what, what's your business"

She said while scowling at me

I quickly released her hand and she cursed further at the girl

"Shibalsekiel" ( f*****g bastard)

She walked out fuming, I took a deep breath, and looked and the girl who visibly relaxed, I smiled at the girl and walked out, she quickly chased after me

" Ughm... Thanks for that, my name is Jessica"

She said looking grateful

" It's fine"

I waved at her and quickly rushed to meet the others, I've spent too much time here already, I met them near a black car and we quickly boarded the car and zoomed off.

I stared at the key given to me that has my room number, I heard I already have a roommate, I really hope she's nice, the last thing I want was a troublesome roommate, I took in a deep breath and open the door, the interior of the room was painted pink, wow this is beautiful, it looks like my roommate is a neat freak, her own side of the bed was so neat and well arranged.

" I hope say I no go f**k up here oo"

I thought as I dropped my bag and sat on the soft bed,

My stomach growled, I sighed am so hungry, I need to take care of that first.

I went downstairs and asked a girl with a Brunette long hair.

" Ugh.. where can I buy food around here"

She pionted at the corner where I hear people bustling, it looked like an eatary, good just what I was looking for, I walked towards the people and I couldn't exactly see them, but I could see the building from a far, I continued on my way only to end up in alley way that led to an empty basketball court...

Great I lost way, how did I even end up here anyway, a ball from the sky, okay it's not the sky but above me, I looked up to see a blonde guy with a basket ball and a girl, wait that's the Korean girl at the airport earlier right??

And at the end of the steps sat another guy, okay this one got my attention

He has blue eyes, raven black hair and really pink lips, his eyes was dull obviously from boredom but his eyes trained on me, his hands at his pocket, his hair was almost covering his eyes... Wow since when do a guy look this handsome..

Someone snapped their hands at me

" Yah!!, what are you staring at, if you have something for us bring it out, stop ogling Seb"

I quickly snapped out of my trance, to find the Korean girl staring at me like I was stupid.

and yep I felt stupid, when did she even get here, someone beside her chuckled

" Since when do the pack rat have a girl working with them, also as a messanger"

"Ughm... I think you guys are mist...."

The blue eyed guy stood up his eyes still trained at me, he spoke coming close to me, he has a rich American accent

" I don't have time for this, I have something important to do now, if you would stop looking like a fish and get on with the business"
