Bots was in the suite pouring coffee from a breakfast trolley, no doubt the same trolley that had woken me when it was wheeled in. He was dressed in the same clothes he wore last night so my question of where did he sleep seemed superfluous to the occasion, but I asked it anyway, before I had properly switched on. I also asked if he’d seen Liam and Oona that morning, to which he nonchalantly replied they had left to catch a flight to Johannesburg and then they would be going home. Perhaps it was a touch of jealousy in his voice that made him seem edgy, or maybe he wanted them gone for a reason I had yet to discover. I was grateful for the sleep I’d had and so, it seemed, was Bots. I had not noticed his lack of luggage, nor the fact that L&O had none when we’d arrived here. I mentioned it
