Fifteen minutes later, Arielle stepped out of her dormitory, still wondering what could possibly be important enough for Maxwell to summon her with such little explanation. The afternoon breeze lifted a few loose strands of her hair as she looked around the parking area. Students wandered in small groups across the campus, their laughter carrying faintly through the warm air, while others hurried toward the bus stop with books tucked beneath their arms. Her eyes finally landed on a familiar silver sedan parked beneath the shade of a jacaranda tree. Maxwell was already waiting.
