Chapter 11- The truth

1435 Words
Alexia walked towards Daemons room at the end of the corridor—the masters bedroom, the corridor reminded her of those gothic hallways that she sees when she watches vampire movies. It had a dark wooden oak door at each side of the walls and a very wide umbrella shaped widow at the end of the corridor, she looked out side the window at the darkened cloud. "I guess it's about to rain." She said to herself before turning to Daemon's door. Hesitantly, she knocked on the door taking in a deep breath. "Come in." She heard someone say from the other side of the door. Opening it slowly, she peeked inside the room before entering it fully, it was clear that she was nervous. When she stepped into the room it was like a whole different world entirely, the interior decor was just splendid, the bright red light of the fire place blended just right with the ash coloured walls and the black mahogany table, that stood opposite the huge king-sized bed that had a white covering on it. The blend of ash, black and white made the room have this kind of mysterious vibes about it. She walked forward, gently closing the door behind her, she walked slowly across the room silently absorbing the gentle feel of the Persian rug beneath her feet. As she reached the king-sized bed that stood in the middle of the room, she expected to see Daemon resting but she saw the exact opposite. She turned around and found him sitting behind the dark mahogany desk using his laptop, he lifted his head from his computer and their eyes met for a brief second before he resumed to continue his job. Alexia started towards him with the bowl and towel in her hand, she placed the bowl with n the p of the table and dipped the towel in it and squeezed gently. As she was doing it she felt Daemon watching her every move. Then she carefully reached out to place the towel in his head. "I don't need it;I don't have a fever." He said in a hoarse voice as he moved his head away looking displeased. "I will have to do it whether you like it or not." She said. " No,you won't." He said with the same finality that mose used to part the Red Sea."I don't do what I don't like." But Alexia was persistent. "It is not a matter of what you like or not." She said with hands akimbo with anger evident on her face. He looked up suddenly interested "So what is it a matter of?" He asked. "It is a matter of what I think is best." She replied. "Well I think it is best to leave me alone." "Oh you little child." She spat. "nye nye nye nye nye nye nye." She said mimicking him. "Your fever will act up any second now,and you need to take precautions." She said." Forming hard man won't do you any good." She said with the same finality he had in his voice. Daemon silently accepted defeat as she placed the towel on this head and gently used it to dab his body. He watched her closely and noticed that this time she didn't look shy—she seemed normal, with an expression that he found difficult to read. Alexia wiped across an injury on his rib, she noticed him flinch. The injury reminded her of when she saw Roman and Daemon covered in blood. A frown rested on the features of her face. "Sorry." She murmured. Repeating the process of dipping the towel in the water and squeezing it lightly so that water will remain in it. "You and Roman,do you guys do this every time?" She blurted out,a wave of bitter emotion rushed over her. "Do what?" He asked with the lift of an eyebrow. "All shooting and killing." She replied absent mindedly, there was sadness written on her face. Daemon paused before examining her face. She snapped back to reality as she saw his jaw hardening. She looked at him the mom by she said that—there was this oddness about him, he looked deeep in thought. His features hardened and his forehead creased. "Sorry of I pryed too much." She said, blinking away the tears that was about to form in her eyes. "No, it's alright." He replied resting his back on the chair." And yes…we do." The last words took him time to say. He stayed at her keenly and he noticed the tense air around both of them. She stood up when she was done, walking to the bathroom and emptied the bowl and rinsed the towel. She came out of the bathroom noticing the hardened features of daemon. She looked out of the window opposite his bed—the angry rainfall, the he spluttering sound that came when the rain hit the window and the loud thunder,it reminded her of the day her mother died. Shaking away the thoughts from her head, she tried to replace the frown that rested on her face with a smile—which didn't work out. "Rest up." She told him about it take her leave. "Alexia." He called out in a soft whisper. She turned hesitantly when he said that. Hearing him say her name took her by surprise. The name sounded beautiful when he said it. She looked at him with surprise, which daemon noticed. A faint smile spread across her face. It was the kind of an le that could make a sane man turn mad. That smile caught him unprepared, he was lost on a trance only that he saw it for a split second before she blinked it away. "Yes." She answered him. She wondered what was going on,when she saw daemon absentmindedly smiling at her. His face softened and his eyes shined brighter than usual—all his features relaxed, he looked beautiful. Is that what you call it? No, he was astonishingly handsome. "D-a-e-mon, hey?" She said waving her hand in the air. " Uh-yes." He said sharply, snapping back from his trance. There was this awkward expression that he had. Daemon stared at her,she looked confused. Her hand akimbo, she was cute when she was confused—that was what he thought. She looked at him one eye brow raised, she expected him to say something —thare was an awaiting eagerness that you could see. "Um, I think there is something that you should know." He said and from the way that he sounded,it must be serious. Daemon n gestured her to sit beside him with the movement of his hand. Alexia nervously moved towards him, taking a seat opposite him. Sh sat taking on the softness of the chair which felt uncomfortable because of the unstaggering gaze that daemon kept on her. He waited for her to seat down before he continued." You showed your face to that assassin, when you tried to help Roman." He paused before he said, looking directly into her eyes. " And?" She waited for him to say something more elaborating. "Right here right now you are the No.1 circulating news in all rich groups and underworld." He added. Before she could reply he passed her the laptop and that he had been working on. "What is—" Het mind went blank, her eyes raced back and forth, reading the information that displayed on the screen of the computer—he life's,her mother's,her runaway father, everything. She pushed her eyes back up to him. "What is the this supposed to be?" She asked him resting her back in the chair. "That Information right there, should be gotten by every mafia group after me." He finally said, his two hands resting on the chair. "You e got to be joking." Sh finally said, before her smile changed to a frown, she stood up sharply. She watched as daemon took the laptop pressing few keys on to before he gave it back to her. That was when she finally calmed down and sat. She watched the screen attentively as the video played on it. She looked closely and recognised the woman I'm the video. It was her———OH!! MY!! GOD!!.................. Hi y'all.
