Monday Morning

It is a cold winter's morning. The day is Monday 18th November 2024 within the City of London. The time was 4am as Samuel lay in his bed wrapped up warm, waiting for his alarm to go off at around 5.30 am. It is only an hour and a half to go, but to Samuel, it feels like two days. Every five minutes, he turns around to his bedside table to look at the time and gives a loud sigh each time he sees it is nowhere near 5.30. I don't really want to go to work this morning, Samuel says out loud," I wish I could just stay in bed.

This really does feel like it is going to be a long day, says Samuel. He then slowly shuts his eyes to get an extra nap before the alarm goes off. t****k is the sound of Samuels clock as it starts to pour down with rain. Halfway through his nap, BEEP BEEP BEEP, the echoing sound of the alarm clock went off, Samuel had a long stretch and a loud yawn before he slowly got out of bed looking all grumpy, dreading the Monday morning of going to work.

Samuel then pulled his curtain to have a look outside the window for a few seconds. His bedroom window faced towards the main road, and the first thing Samuel said to himself quietly was something didn't look and feel right. He just couldn't figure out what it was. He then went to the bathroom to wash his face, take a shower and brush his teeth whilst humming his made-up song to try and put him in a better mood from the way he was feeling when he woke up this morning and looked outside.

He then got out of the shower, got dressed and had some weetabix for breakfast, although he was still demotivated to leave the house for work his mood was slightly lifted as the weetabix hit the spot and the shower made him feel refreshed.

Samuel then put his shoes, coat, hat and scarf on as the weather was very cold he checked everywhere and everything to make sure everything was switched off, as he was doing that he heard a loud bang coming from outside, he then ran to his bedroom to check through his window, as he took a look through his window everything looked peaceful and normal and the cars, vans and buses we're running as usual

hmmmm that's strange. Samuel said to himself I'm sure I just heard a loud bang outside, or is it my imagination?" Samuel then went back downstairs to get himself prepared to leave the house for work meanwhile outside more strange things we're happening outside, Samuel ignored it this time as everything looked normal when he checked through his window.

Samuel has no clue what he is about to walk into when he leaves his house. The crazy adventure that is about to take place is not what anyone wants to deal with on a Monday morning, and this is only the start of the daily routine, which is Monday morning, first thing.

Meanwhile, outside, even though things seemed very normal, people were randomly vanishing to a place unknown, Samuel made his final check and opened the front door to leave the house.

He shut the door behind him and walked down the stairs and walked to the train station, which is a 15-minute walk. In Samuels eyes, everything seemed all good, so he stopped and took out his headphones from his bag and connected his music, and continued his journey the music was so loud he could not hear his surroundings Samuel was just in his own world.

Whilst Samuel was in his own world listening to music making his way the train station a few strange things we're taking place behind, one of them was the loud bang that Samuel heard when he was at home but thought it was his imagination but because Samuel has his headphones on he is totally unaware.

One major thing that happens when this bang happens is that people just disappear, but Samuel was just so focused on getting the train station that he didn't even turn around to look what was happening behind him. He finally arrived at the train station and realised that his train was cancelled, so he stopped his music and took out his phone to call his manager to let him know the situation there we're loads of other people in the same situation in which they had to make calls to whoever they needed to, because the train station was so loud and busy Samuel decided to step outside and go around the corner where it was a bit quieter.

The phone started ringing, and his manager picked up and Samuel explained the situation, his manager was OK with it and let him know to get there as soon as he can and keep him updated if there are any major changes. As he hung up the phone, he heard the loud bang again, his face was in shock and he said to himself this is the same sound I heard when I was at home this is definitely not my imagination Samuel said to himself he then made his way back to the train station thinking to himself someone must of got hurt but when he got there the busy train station he left 5 minutes ago was empty even the people that work at the train station we're nowhere to be seen.

WHAT AN EARTH IS GOING ON, Samuel said out loud. He tried to find someone close by to understand what had happened, but no one was close by, he then took out his phone again to try and update his manager but this time there was no signal, FOR GOODNESS SAKE Samuel shouted, he went back around the corner where he made the phone call 5 minutes earlier and still couldn't get any signal, he then started to panic and ran back to the station and shouted HELLO IS ANY ONE AROUND, I NEED AN UPDATE ON WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE TRAIN I NEED TO GET TO WORK.

All Samuel could hear was the echo of his voice in the silent train station, feeling frustrated. Samuel decided to take an alternative route, which would take him a lot longer he crossed the road to where the bus stop was and decided to wait for the bus which was only 5 minutes away when he looked on the board, this time he saw a few people walking from a distance so he felt relieved for a minute he then took a glance at his phone to check the time and as soon as he looked up the few people he saw had disappeared.

His heart started to beat fast whilst getting nervous butterflies in his stomach, I DON'T UNDERSTAND Samuel said to himself before he could think any deeper his bus had arrived so he put his hand out to stop the bus, the bus stopped for Samuel and the bus driver opened the door he got on the bus and tapped his oyster card as soon as he sat down, BANG BANG was the same sound Samuel heard before but this time it felt and sounded different. This time, all he could hear was a ringing sound in both of his ear drums. After the loud bang, he then started to feel dizzy and unconscious. A few moments later, he was in a completely different environment Samuel then opened his eyes and took a glance around him and saw a lot of happy people walking around going about their business like everything was normal this environment had lots of green space and was bright and sunny.

Samuel then took a slow stroll in this new environment whilst slowly glancing around in shock but felt at peace as all the stress trails and struggles from his reality world were no longer a worry for him his face started to brighten up with a huge smile everyone that walked past him said good morning to him with a smile which is something he wasn't use to in his reality world as everyone just seemed miserable.

He continued walking and was approached by a lady called Charlotte and a gentleman called Justin. Good morning, how are you? Justin asked. I am well thanks replied Samuel, How are you both doing and what's your name? Samuel said, "I am Justin, and this is Charlotte it's nice to meet you. Samuel replied

Charlotte then said to Samuel, "Would you like to come and spend some time in our art shed it's just a 5 minute walk?

Sure, I would love to. Samuel replied, OK that's fine.Let's grab some breakfast from the cafe, and we will head straight back to the shed and chill out for the rest of the day Charlotte said, they all agreed and stopped at the cafe to grab some breakfast

Samuel ordered a cheese and toast with hot chocolate

Justin ordered a coffee and a bacon sandwich

Charlotte ordered a pack of cookies, cheese and toast sandwich, sausage roll, and a hot chocolate

that's a very big breakfast you ordered Samuel said to Charlotte, she laughed saying yes I know I am very hungry I didn't even have dinner yesterday evening as I fell asleep quite early and by the time I woke up it was to late to make dinner so I just went back to sleep so all that hunger was built up from then.

That's understandable, Samuel replied. They all finished ordering and paid for their breakfast and made their way back to the art shed as planned. Samuel then asked both Justin and Charlotte how they knew each other, Charlotte replied, saying we grew up together and went to the same primary school. Oh, I see, "replied Samuel

As they got back to the art shed and unlocked it and went inside Justin said to Samuel to have a seat on the sofa and make himself at home whilst him and Charlotte went to the kitchen area to get the plates and cups to comfortably eat their breakfast as they went into the kitchen Samuel sat in the sofa with his head down in confusion trying to figure out how he ended up in this new environment although he was enjoying the experience so far he did feel quite worried, he started to say to himself when and how did I end up hear? all I remember is I went to the station and there were no trains and heard a loud bang and now I'm here, he started to ask himself more questions

Did I get knocked out by the loud bang, and someone tried to take me to the hospital and ended up getting lost?

Is this real, or am I dreaming?

How do I get back to my normal world?

Are any of my family members here, friends or work colleagues?

As he was asking himself these questions tears started to roll down his face with mixed feelings he was happy to be in this new environment but was so overwhelmed and stressed on the issues he was facing in his reality environment. Justin and Charlotte came back into the room where Samuel was and saw that he was in tears.
