Jake opened his eyes reluctantly and rubbed his face with one hand, groaning softly as he lifted himself up in the bed so he could look over towards the clock. He saw that it was already eight o'clock so he sighed and pushed his tired body back down against the pillow in defeat. He knew that he was going to end up oversleeping today so he figured it wouldn't hurt anything to try to go back to sleep for an hour or two longer, so he forced himself to lie motionlessly against the pillows for a moment until he felt confident that he wouldn't start dreaming. Finally satisfied that he'd gotten enough shut eye, he sat up slowly and swung his legs over the edge of the bed so he could step unsteadily out of it.
