  A horse's cry reached us from deep within the forest; the animal sounded like it was in serious pain. It was past midnight, and we were on patrol duty, standing guard at our borders.   "Did you hear that?" It was Chad.   "Most certainly, it sounded like an animal in pain." I said   Moon Stone's doing, I'm sure." I added. We kept quiet, and this time the direction from whence the cry was coming became clearer.   "I should go check it out." Chad stood to his feet and made to leave.   "No, stay back. I'll go. If I am not back in ten minutes, head back to the pack and get more men. If I catch the bastards, I'll rip their hearts out with my claws." I said I was on my feet and running towards it before Chad could stop me.   My ears picked up the sound of every living creature in the wood
