Everything hurts and nothing hurts and I can taste colors.
That's my first coherent thought as consciousness slams back into me like a freight train made of starlight and wolf fur. My body feels like it's been taken apart and put back together by someone who had the instruction manual upside down.
But then I feel *her*.
Kira's heartbeat echoes in my chest. Her fear tastes like copper pennies on my tongue. Her confusion wraps around my brain like fog, and underneath it all, her love burns so bright it makes my teeth ache.
