Damon's POV The Alpha's office feels foreign to me, though I grew up watching my father command from behind that massive oak desk. I've avoided this room since returning, preferring to meet with the enforcers in the war room or my own quarters. But tonight, before facing the council, I need to center myself in the place that represents leadership to the pack. I run my fingers over the polished wood, remembering how small I felt standing here as a kid, my father's voice booming across the space. I've removed most of Scott's personal items, but the space still carries his energy—dominant, controlling, cold. "f**k this," I mutter, crossing to the windows and throwing them open.
