Kira's POV "Jesus Christ, this place smells like dead rats and broken dreams." Derek's voice echoes off the concrete walls as we stumble through the maintenance tunnel. The smell hits me too - mold, rust, and something that might have been alive once upon a time. My bare feet splash through puddles of water that I really don't want to think about. Damon's weight presses against my shoulder as I help him walk, and I can feel his pain shooting through the mate bond like lightning strikes. "How much further?" I ask.
