Richard's Pov
My wife continued nagging and accusing Olivia
for theft, I couldn't say much because a staff
member was present.
"Olivia you can go."
"Just go and bring the money, don't go and sit
down." My wife said,
Olivia left my office as my wife and I were left
alone. I decided to persuade her to drop the
case but she refused. "Emily, please stop this whole thing. I would pay
double the amount of the money you lost. I
want you to stop this nonsensical attitude." I
told her.
"Nonsense you say? It's like you have a
relationship with this girl, if not you would
cooperate with me to chastise this thief."
"She is not a thief Emily."
"Then my money flew away, and it developed
wings on its own."
"Can you just stop this nagging, you nag a lot
on every little thing."
"Whatever!" She said as she walked out of my
office angrily, A few moments later Olivia came
to my office to make a request. " Sir, I just thought about it. Can I see the CCTV
surveillance footage? Since it keeps the record
of everything in the office, we can find the
culprit in that way." Olivia said.
"Ohhh okay sure." I replied to her
My wife Emily Walton came in at the moment
while I was talking with her.
"Ohhh, you came to seduce your boss, didn't
you?" Emily said to her.
"Stop that Emily, she came for something else."
I responded.
"Ma please I want to check the CCTV
surveillance footage and see the movement in
the office on that particular day that the money
was lost." Olivia said facing my wife. "No problem, my own is to get my 100,000
dollars back." Emily responded to her.
We went to the CCTV control room as I called
other staff members, Emily, Charlotte and
Isabella were present just to ensure
transparency. Olivia checked the footage and
saw that there was no record on that particular
day that the money was lost.
"Sir, there was no record on this day, it's the
only day. Something is definitely wrong
somewhere."
"What do you mean by that? Are you playing
games with us?" Charlotte asked.
"She wasn't talking to you Charlotte." My boss
replied to her.
"So how is this going to bring back my money?"
Emily asked. "No problem, my own is to get my 100,000
dollars back." Emily responded to her.
We went to the CCTV control room as I called
other staff members, Emily, Charlotte and
Isabella were present just to ensure
transparency. Olivia checked the footage and
saw that there was no record on that particular
day that the money was lost.
"Sir, there was no record on this day, it's the
only day. Something is definitely wrong
somewhere."
"What do you mean by that? Are you playing "Ma, I know what to do." Olivia said.
Olivia was nervous and overwhelmed by the
situation on the ground. She tried everything
within her power to solve the issue and prove
that she was innocent of the crime that Emily
accused her of. Olivia changed the cable of the
CCTV screen, she made some adjustments
and reset it intelligently, in a few minutes she
was able to rectify the issue.
"Ma,have rectified it. Here is the footage from
that particular day, someone jammed the CCTV
and I was able to change it due to my
experience." she said pointing to the screen.
We watched the video and to our greatest
surprise Isabella, the closest person to Olivia,
was seen taking the spare key out of her bag,
opening my office and taking the money.
Nobody expected this, I thought Charlotte was
the thief that's why she was accusing Olivia. "Isabella!! How could you?!!" Olivia said as
tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Ohhh, wow! So you are a wolf in sheep's
clothing?" Charlotte said laughing.
"Isabella, I trusted you, I never expected this
from you." Olivia said.
"I'm sorry Olivia, I needed money urgently and I
know that if I tell you about the plan to steal the
money, you won't succumb to it ." Isabella said.
"Isabella, really? You are a thief! So where is
my money? Where is it, you useless person."
Emily shouted furiously at her.
"Emily, please calm down. Now we know that
Olivia is not guilty of the time she was accused
of, we can now address the issue
appropriately." I said to my wife. "Clam down? Even after this glaring evidence? I
really don't trust your relationship with these
ladies." Emily responded.
She immediately called the cops who came to
arrest Isabella for theft and tampering with the
company's gadgets.
Isabella was a confidante, someone whom
Olivia told everything to. It was hard for her to
believe that betrayal. Olivia was faced with
physical pains from the accident and emotional
pain of betrayal, leaving Sarah in a state of
vulnerability.
When the truth was revealed, it became
obvious that Isabella had been manipulating
the situation all along. It was not a coincidence
that Isabella stole her money but it was an
intentional act of deception. The office now looked like a battleground of
emotions, Sarah faced the challenge of its
toxicity. I felt emotional and I could understand
her situation at that moment.
"Olivia I'm sorry you went through all this." I told
her.
"It's fine sir, it's not your fault." She said as she
sobbed.
Emily hissed at her and walked away while
Charlotte apologized for treating her anyhow.
"Olivia I'm sorry for my reactions, I hurt you with
my words. I'm sorry." Charlotte said.
"I understand you, I don't have any grudges
against you Charlotte." Olivia said as they
hugged each other. "What happened to your skin, these are
bruises." I asked Olivia.
" I had a minor accident sir." Olivia told me.
"Accident? Yesterday? Why did you come to the
office? You should have informed me and taken
a day off." I told her.
" I couldn't. Your wife would think I was giving
an excuse to run away." She said,
"Nevertheless, health is more important than
money."
"I know sir, I was taken to the hospital and I
took medications."
I could see that Olivia was a peaceful and
responsible lady, she was not guilty of the crime
that my wife accused her of. Despite not being in a good physical condition she still carried
herself.
I developed interest in Olivia, I could see that
there is more to her than just my personal
assistant.
games with us?" Charlotte asked.
"She wasn't talking to you Charlotte." My boss
replied to her.
"So how is this going to bring back my money?"
