"What did you think?" Ashley asked after they"d finished eating. "It was good, better than the restaurant"s. I liked it." He turned on his stool to face her. They sat at the bar, plates still in front of them. "They do a decent job," she said with a smile, "but I prefer mine." She slid off her stool, picked up her plate, and went around to the sink. He stood and reached for his own, but she"d already grabbed it. Instead of saying something, he went around the bar and stepped in front of the sink while she was busy with the foil and pan. He found the dish soap and started pouring water into the sink. "I was going to do that," she said behind him. "I know, but you cooked. I can help with the dishes."
