Steph was startled awake by an unfamiliar sound. The bed shifted, and she remembered where she was.
“Hello?” Noah answered his phone. She realized the sound had been his phone ringing and tried to go back to sleep. The problem was, now that she was awake, her bladder insisted on needing attention. She slipped out of the bed and into the bathroom, leaving Noah still on the phone.
When she returned, she looked at the clock before slipping back beneath the sheets, just after noon. Once she was in bed, Noah hooked one arm around her waist and pulled her close.
“Sorry about that.”
“I hope it wasn"t important.”
“Someone wanting me to cover their shift. I told them not tonight.” He rubbed his face against her neck. “I don"t want to leave you.”
Warmth spread through her and she couldn"t help
