Bitter Truth

We were in the plane on our way to Petersburg along with the whole Vernon industries.He still didn't talk to me.Not even a single word.

Something which broke me more was when I saw Kira, completely recovered.

He talked with her for a while but didn't even care to even look at me.

His seat was beside me.As for Kira,what was she doing here?

As Luke walked away and talked with other business associates,someone came to me.

Boris Smirnov.

"Hello.You are Lucia Browning if I am correct." He said.

"Yes.You must be Boris Smirnov, Luke's father." I said.

"Yes,my dear child.I saw that you and Luke grew quite distant.I want you to remember that he loves you the most and he is trying his best to be with you but all the blame goes to me.Just because I was a don,he is suffering for my failures but daughter, don't give up on him." He said.

"Father..." His dominating voice interrupted us.

"Dad is looking for you." He whispered in his ear.

He calls Boris, father and Robert as dad.

They all walked away.I walked and sat beside Enrique.

"Hey, where have you been?" He asked.

"Just,here and there." I murmured.

"Hey,um.What is Kira doing here?" I asked.

"She came here as Mr.Vernon's date." He said.

"What?!" I gasped as my heart stopped beating.I couldn't hear anything else he said.I walked away from him and sat on my seat.

After arriving there,I realized that Luke and I were in the same room.

"Well..." I murmured to myself.

I decided to take a shower and head to sleep as it was already 11 pm and the party was tomorrow in the evening.

After taking a warm shower,I dried myself,wore some clothes and laid on the bed.Luke changed into some trousers and nothing on top.I thought he wouldn't lay beside me but unexpectedly he did!

I turned my back at him and closed my eyes.It was the first time we were sleeping together without any emotions or love.

I felt that he was still awake.Was he waiting for me to say something? Was I waiting for him to say something?

Whatever Boris said in the plane calmed my heart a bit but after I've heard that Kira was his date,I didn't know what to believe in and what to not.

The next morning came sooner than I expected.Luke came out of the bathroom after shaving and freshly showered.

He looked extremely handsome.I got up and headed to the bathroom.I took a shower and got ready for breakfast.He looked at me and stood up.He held my hand and we headed for the breakfast lounge.

As we reached there,I sat down and started to eat because I was extremely hungry.

Luke was in a pretty cheerful mood as I observed.

After the breakfast session,I decided to head to the room but I saw some women inside.

"Hi,who are you?" I asked.

"Miss,we are your stylist and makeup artists." A woman said.

"Oh..." I trailed off.

"Mr.Vernon chose this dress for you." She said as she showed me a long black dress.It was undoubtedly beautiful.

"Please sit,so we can start doing your make up."

I sat down as they started doing the makeup.While some others did my hair.They gave me a simple yet elegant look.

When I was done,I saw that Luke was waiting for me.I walked towards him.When he saw me,he studied me from top to bottom.Then he stood up.I held his arm hoping it would fix something but he gave in no response.We walked towards the car and we separated as we entered.

I looked outside the window.Petersburg was truly a beautiful place.

I wanted to be in his arm but he already had someone else.I looked to my left.He was smoking with his eyes fixed on the road.

I wanted to say that I loved him but the car stopped at the destination.

We walked into the building where the party was supposed to be.We directly went to the dinner hall and I sat down with him beside me.I ate the food quietly.It was undoubtedly delicious.All the people around us were talking.I sipped onto the red wine.

After the dinner,he held my hand and we were introduced to another floor.As we went inside,I saw the couples dancing in the dark.It was silent except for the slow melodic tune which was playing.
