“Beth had a doctor’s appointment today, so I brought Lucy along to hang out with Trevor, I hope that’s okay,” Lucy’s dad said. He was smiling as he rested a protective hand on Lucy’s shoulder. We were just crossing the lobby after finishing breakfast.
I looked up at my Dad expectantly. “Sure, it’s fine with me,” he said, “I’ll just have to let Alba know she’s on double duty today.”
“Yes! Thank you Daddy Rafe, thank you, Mr. Quinn!” Lucy slipped out from under her fathers hand and ran to me, grabbing me up in a hug that pinned both of my arms to my sides. She was crazy about this hugging thing, but I was getting used to it.
I wasn’t going to admit that I kinda liked it. I couldn’t have it getting out that I liked hugging a girl- there would be no end to the teasing.
