My eyes stayed on Naomi as she moved slightly under my gaze. I didn’t know why she quivered whenever I looked at her. It almost made me feel like a monster, that I wasn’t.
I ran my eyes over her again before signaling for the priest to begin the wedding vows. The priest cleared his throat, voice echoing through the hall. My gaze didn’t leave Naomi even once while he read from the book in his hand. My focus was locked on her, making sure she wouldn’t do something stupid while everyone was watching.
Then the priest turned to me. “Do you, Enzo Vitale, take Naomi Ray as your lawfully wedded wife?”
“I do,” I muttered, my eyes still pinned on her. I had to keep my gaze there. One wrong move and this entire thing would blow up.
