Hunters attacked them the minute they reached the end of the mountain. Wyre grabbed his father's sword and began defending them, as did John with Daemas’ weapon. Heck, her mother and Sedna were doing something by fending the Jaegers off with small spells, as well as protecting them with shields.
Maria couldn't do anything but be stay at Daemas side with the twins and her father.
Maria wanted to do something.
She didn’t want to be useless.
She didn’t want to see her family die before her whilst she did nothing.
She just wanted these people after her family to just die and disappear.
