Alexa turned to her boss, trying to formulate an objection that would keep her on the case while getting away from this Neanderthal. Before she could say anything, Hernandez spoke.
“You two will have our full support and full independence. Take any avenue of investigation you want. In the meantime, we and the FBI and the regular police will continue our investigations. You’ll have full access to what we find, of course, and if you need any backup manpower, that can be arranged as well.”
Alexa glanced at Agent Stuart Barrett.
