Okay. His mom had a decent suggestion for a movie. As it turns out, Zuri and Ayanne both liked Heath Ledger. At first he thought maybe they had a crush on a dead guy, but they assured him it was purely his acting.
That was fine.
Nothing happened. Except, a kick to his f*****g stomach. They laid out two blankets. He wasn’t going to expect Zuri to sit with him because of that, but when she chose to sit with her sister and Toby…he groaned internally.
At one point, he thought about just leaving, but the whole point of tonight was to continue this pilgrimage to Zuri’s good f*****g graces. He sort of pissed her off last night, and while he was enjoying it in the moment, her refusal to look him in the eye after he struck a deal with Royal set him back ten steps with her.
