Regrets Part I

Savannah Grace - Messages

After the strangest day in all of my time at Evermore, I'm ready to go home and unwind. I walk through the front door and head right up to my room. I pull my phone out, no new messages. Just as I thought, those two were messing with me. I open my phone and dial Jessica's number.

"Hello?"

"Hey Jess! It's Savannah Grace!"

"SG! Hi! What are you up to?" She sounds like she's in the middle of something "Sorry, I just got home from school. I'm grabbing a snack real quick, hang on." More rustling then she comes back to the phone "Ok, I'm back, sorry about that, I had to make sure no prying ears were listening". She has an older brother but I'm pretty sure he has no interest in his teenage sister's conversations. "What's up?"

"So the strangest thing happened today at school" I proceed to tell her the events of 1st period. By the time I'm done, she's squealing at the end of the line.

"SG! That's so exciting! Look at you catching the eye of a hottie! And you said you were just there to focus on school. I knew I would rub off on you eventually. Tell me about this Brayden." Now that Jennifer and Brad were finally in a serious relationship, she liked to hear all the juicy gossip about me and my friends. Usually it's about them and not me.

"Well, there's really not much else to tell. I have a couple classes with him. We've never talked, just a glance across the studio today. I think he ran into me one day last year but it was so weird, he gave me a strange look and ran off. I still don't know what that was about."

"What about is friend Jackson. Is he hot too?"

"He's ok. Definitely nothing compared to Brayden. They've been best friends since they were like 2"

"Has he sent you a message yet?" I look down at my phone. Nothing there.

"No, I really doubt he's going to, there's no way"

"SG, stop being so hard on yourself. You're worth the hottest guy at the school. You're sweet, kind, beautiful, funny, all great qualities. If he doesn't call, he's an i***t. I'll come down to that school myself and tell him so!"

I laugh, my friend was nothing if not loyal. Even though we don't talk every day and our phone calls keep getting further and further apart, I know she always has my back if I need her.

"I've got some homework to finish so I probably need to hang up."

"Yeah, you better hang up in case you get an important message!"

I roll my eyes even though she can't see "I miss you! Tell Brad I said hi"

"I will, goodnight SG"

"Goodnight Jess", we hang up.

Talking to her always puts me in a good mood. I sigh, put Brayden and Jackson out of my mind and pull out my own homework. If nothing else I'll be ready for my classes tomorrow.
