Brayden - The Number

374 Words
I run up to Jackson. "Did you talk to her?" I asked anxiously. I know I may sound desperate but this is Jackson we are talking about. We've known each other since 2nd grade and he knows how long I've been wanting to talk to her. He had 1st period with her and I haven't been able to see him before lunch to ask. I've gone crazy with waiting "I did. Her name is Savannah Grace and here is her phone number. I told her you would be sending her a message." Savannah Grace. Very southern but I like it. Finally a name to put to a face, I can stop calling her Sandra. I like Savannah Grace better anyway. I look down at the note. Her number right in front of me. I can hardly believe it. A whole year of watching her walk through the halls of Evermore High and I finally have her phone number. I'm on a high that I don't think I'll be coming down from anytime soon. Audio Production class is finally here. I walk into the studio and glance around immediately spotting Savannah Grace. I wonder if she goes by Savannah Grace or just Savannah... SG? She looks up and catches my eye, I blush and look away. At least she knows who I am now. I spend the rest of the day in a daze. The final bell rings and I head to the bus area to start the journey home. I walk in the door, head upstairs, and pull out the note. Ten beautiful numbers stare me back. These are the numbers that would connect me to the girl I longed for for an entire year. All I have to do is send a message. I open up my flip phone and enter the numbers in. I go blank. What do I say? Will she be expecting my message or should I wait a few days? I can't believe I'm getting this worked up over a girl. But she's not just any girl, she's Savannah Grace. Just saying her name brings a smile to my face. Beautiful Savannah Grace. I close my phone and get in the shower. Maybe I'll send her a message later.
