Time has stopped. It's third period on Monday and I am so excited for 7th period that I can hardly stand it. I may throw up. Is this what a crush feels like? I'm watching every painstaking minute tick by. Even the thought of lunch with the girls can't bring my focus away from 7th period. Why is time not ticking?
Finally lunch time comes. I do my normal lunchtime ritual. I sit with the girls and try my best to put on a smile and follow the conversations but my mind keeps wandering. I have a goofy smile that I'm sure everyone can see.
"Earth to Savannah Grace!" I hear Rachel shout and snap out of my daze. "What's up with you today?" she asks as the rest of the girls turn their heads.
"Yeah, you've kind of been a zombie today walking around in a daze. I tried to talk to you after 4th period and it's like you weren't even there." Christina adds "Are you ok?"
Busted. "Yeah, I'm fine, I just have a lot on my mind right now" that wasn't a total lie. I did have a lot on my mind. Brayden was a lot. I hadn't told any of the girls about my texts with him just yet, it's like a little secret I want to keep to myself for just a little while longer. The bell rings indicating the end of lunch and I bolt out of my seat. Only one more period to get through before I can see him. What am I going to say to him? Will he speak to me in person? Thankfully my next class was dance, that should get me out of my head for a little bit anyway.
Dance class passes much faster. We are working on our routine for the winter recital. I am able to focus my concentration on getting the steps just right and almost forget all about Brayden. Almost. Time goes by a little quicker and before I know it, it's time to change and head to 7th period. I quickly change back into my clothes and finish tying up my shoes just as the bell rings. I speed walk out of the dance studio and make my way to Audio Production.
I am almost breathless by the time I reach my class. Good, I'm a few minutes early so I have time to catch my breath before seeing him. I walk in and hang my backpack up and to my surprise, both he and Jackson were already there. I wave to him, he gives me a smile and waves back. My heart melts. He is so gorgeous, I can't even believe it.
"Hey Savannah Grace!" Jackson greets me as I take my seat.
"Hey Jackson, I hope you had a good weekend"
"I did, I'm looking forward to hanging out with you this weekend"
"Yeah, it should be fun", I glance over at Brayden who is just looking at me with a huge grin on his face. "Do you guys want to come hang out at my place? I know it's not too exciting but I figured it would give us a chance to just talk and get to know each other"
"Yes!" Brayden jumps in "I mean, yeah, that would be cool". I smile, I'm so happy to see he's just as excited as me for this weekend. I still can't believe this is happening to me. We turn our attention to the teacher to figure out which projects we are working on for the next 2 periods. I can't get this smile off my face and I feel that cloud returning underneath me.
