The elevator on the right had still not arrived. My heart sank because I had lost the only opportunity to escape.
Unless I managed to get into the elevator before the skeleton caught up, there was no way I could shake it off. I could neither defeat the skeleton nor run away from it. Even if I was lucky enough to stall the skeleton until the right elevator door opened, there was no way it would let me go. It would definitely chase after me into the elevator. By then, I would have to fight against it in the cramped elevator. That was practically suicide!
In the nick of time, I noticed the display screen next to the left elevator was showing the number "26". The elevator happened to have stopped on the 26th floor.
