Saloni Unwanted Rescue

1346 Words
Morning arrived, and both Shreya and Saloni woke up in their respective rooms. Shreya stretched lazily, looking around, while Saloni sat up on the guest bed, her brows furrowed in confusion. Shreya (walking into Saloni’s room, rubbing her eyes): "Hey, how did we end up in our rooms last night? I don’t even remember getting out of the car!" Saloni (sipping water, half-smiling): "Same here. I think your dear husband and his accomplice handled things while we were out of it." Shreya (grinning): "Accomplice? You mean Samay? Oh, he’s always up to something." They shared a chuckle as they started getting ready for the day. In the living room, as Saloni grabs her bag Shreya (handing Saloni a cup of tea): "Don’t forget, Saloni, we have dinner tonight. Big discussion about wedding plans, and we’re picking the dance routine!" Saloni (putting on her watch, shaking her head): "I wish I could join, but today is hectic at work. There’s an important therapy session, and I’m a key guest there. It’s something I can’t miss." Shreya (pouting dramatically): "You can’t skip dinner for work! Come on, it’s just for an hour or two." Saloni (softly but firmly): "I know it’s important, but so is this session. We still have two days left for planning. Let’s finalize things tomorrow." Shreya (sighing, giving up): "Fine, but don’t think you’re off the hook. Tomorrow, you’re all mine!" Evening, at the dinner table The group sat down for dinner, but Shreya’s usual cheer was missing. She kept stirring her soup absently, her eyes distant. Samay (noticing): "Bhabhi, why the long face? Did the wedding stress finally catch up?" Shreya (grumbling): "It’s not the wedding; it’s Saloni. She’s too busy being Ms. Therapist Extraordinaire to spend time with us." Samay (smirking): "She’s not here? I was going to ask about that. Why is she always MIA for fun stuff?" Shreya (teasingly): "Why don’t you ask her yourself? Oh wait, you don’t have her number, do you?" Samay (rolling his eyes): "No, I don’t. She’s great at dodging, isn’t she? But you know what? Let’s crash her office and bring her back. It’s about time she loosened up a little." Arjun (laughing): "Are you serious? Just waltz into her workplace and drag her here?" Samay (grinning mischievously): "Exactly. Why not? It’ll be fun, and we’ll finally get her to take a break. Bhabhi, back me up!" Shreya (brightening up): "I’m all in! Let’s do it. She can’t escape us if we’re standing right in front of her." Later that evening, at Saloni’s workplace Samay and Shreya arrived at Saloni’s office building. It was quieter than usual, the session having just concluded. Saloni was seated in a corner of the lobby, talking to a colleague. Her usual composed demeanor was evident, even after what seemed like a long day. Shreya (nudging Samay and whispering): "There she is. Look at her, totally in her element. Now, what’s the plan, Mr. Hero?" Samay (grinning): "Simple. We’re walking up to her, acting like we own the place. Let’s catch her off guard." They strolled over casually, Samay putting on an exaggerated air of nonchalance. Samay (leaning against the table): "Well, well, Ms. Wonder Therapist. Busy saving the world, are we?" Saloni (startled, looking up): "What on earth are you two doing here?" Shreya (smiling sweetly): "Oh, we thought you might need rescuing. You know, from all this serious work stuff." Saloni (sighing, amused): "Rescuing? Really? I told you I couldn’t make it tonight." Samay (sitting down next to her): "Yeah, we heard that excuse. But guess what? We’re not leaving without you. Dinner is waiting, and so are our plans for the wedding. So, grab your bag, Wonder Queen. It’s time to go." Saloni (smirking): "You two are impossible. Fine, give me a minute to wrap up here." As she got up to gather her things, Shreya and Samay exchanged a victorious high-five. In the car, on the way to dinner Saloni sat in the backseat with Samay, Shreya and Arjun in the front. Saloni (playfully glaring at Samay): "So, was this all your idea? Dragging me out of work like this?" Samay (grinning): "Guilty as charged. But admit it, you needed the break." Saloni (rolling her eyes): "Sure, let’s call it that. Or maybe just your excuse for some chaos." The group laughed as the car headed toward the restaurant. The evening was just beginning, with conversations, laughter, and wedding planning awaiting them. At the restaurant The group arrived at a cozy, bustling restaurant with a warm ambiance. As they made their way to the table, Saloni couldn’t help but glance at the menu, already planning her order. Shreya and Arjun were in full-on wedding planning mode, discussing ideas for outfits, themes, and color schemes. Samay, on the other hand, had been in a teasing mood all evening, constantly making light jokes and adding to the banter. As they sat down, Samay looked over at Saloni, noticing her more relaxed demeanor. He leaned back in his chair, eyeing her with a mischievous smile. Samay (teasing): "So, Ms. Serious, any big plans after the wedding? Or are you just going to keep saving the world one therapy session at a time?" Saloni (smirking): "I have a few plans, Mr. Hero. But saving the world is a pretty full-time job." Shreya (chiming in): "Not when you have amazing friends to drag you out for dinner!" Samay (grinning): "Exactly! And who else would make sure she doesn’t turn into a workaholic, right, Bhabhi?" Saloni (laughing): "I’m not a workaholic. I just take my job seriously." Samay (mock-seriously): "Ah yes, the serious, responsible Wonder Woman. But sometimes, Wonder Woman needs to relax." Saloni rolled her eyes but couldn’t help smiling at his antics. Samay always seemed to know how to keep the mood light. As dinner continued, the conversation naturally shifted to the wedding. Shreya and Arjun were deep in discussion about the event, with Saloni offering occasional input when needed. But Samay, true to form, couldn’t resist stirring the pot a bit. Samay (grinning): "So, Bhabhi, what’s your idea of the perfect wedding? A little bit of drama, or something more low-key?" Shreya (laughing): "Well, I do love a bit of drama. But I want it to feel like a celebration, not a circus!" Saloni (joking): "Don’t worry, Bhabhi. With Samay here, I’m sure the circus part will be covered." Samay (laughing): "Hey, I’m just here for the fun!" Arjun (smiling): "You’re the wild card, Samay. We’ll need you to keep things interesting." As the evening wore on, everyone began to unwind and enjoy the meal. Laughter filled the table, with Samay and Saloni exchanging playful banter, while Shreya and Arjun focused on the wedding details. Despite Saloni’s initial reluctance to join, she was grateful for the time spent with her friends, finding it to be a welcome break from the stress of her professional life. By the time the meal came to an end, it felt like a fun, lighthearted evening – the perfect mix of wedding talk, teasing, and friendship. Saloni (smiling as she finished her drink): "Okay, okay, I admit it. You guys were right. I needed this night. Thank you." Shreya (grinning): "Of course we were right! When are you going to learn?" Samay (teasing): "I think we’re getting through to her, Wonder Queen." Saloni chuckled and shook her head, but deep down, she was thankful for the friends who knew how to pull her out of her routine and remind her of the lighter side of life. Samay (grinning mischievously): "Alright, now that we’ve done the wedding prep and got you to laugh, what’s next? I think I deserve a reward for my hard work tonight." Saloni (mock-seriously): "Your reward? I think a joke-free ride back to your place is reward enough for tonight, Mr. Hero." Samay (playfully groaning): "Deal. But only because you look so nice when you laugh." As they all made their way out of the restaurant, the night felt complete—full of laughter, plans, and the bond of friendship.
