Chapter Eighteen – A Shot in the Dark The lieutenant didn’t give Albert much time to miss his bride. He moved them to another section of the front line and weeks following the wedding were some of the busiest of the war for the tunnellers in Albert’s company, pushing galleries forward towards the German positions and laying explosives. There was a mad rush to get the work completed by the deadline, which was 03:10 in the morning. They had finished by midnight and then waited.
