Chapter 24As we winged closer, I saw ledges and spokes radiating out from these black spires. Birds—or were they bats?—swirled in masses around them. There might have been two dozen towers. We headed to the largest, tallest one. I couldn't tell if someone had built them or manifested them from the void. Really. I couldn't get a read whatsoever from them. This whole realm was blocking my abilities. Maybe this would be a pleasant place to take a vacation—not. Almost at once, we had unusual company join us. Dragons flew into formation around us.
