The Gorge

3rd Person The Moon Gorge was a mystical valley, one filled with creatures that settled down and made their mark on the magical land. The species’ lived in virtual harmony, ruled by Werewolves who founded Goddess Kingdom. Humans who lived in the area were well aware of what kind of life they cohabited with. Outside of The Gorge, most “mythical” creatures were still living in secret among the human-kind. The Moon Gorge was essentially a safe haven to the fairytale-like creatures. It was their sacred land. While the wolves ruled over the Kingdom within The Gorge, there was a council that advised the Alpha and his pack. The council had a seat for each creature that wanted representation for their kind. Alpha Alexander, the current Alpha, was the one who enacted this cabinet of creatures. He was a fair ruler, but coming up on his end of reign. Alpha Alex and his wife, Luna Brielle, had four children and were considered royalty across the land. Their first child born was Lily. Although she was the eldest, she would not be the one to take over ruling the kingdom. Her younger identical-triplet brothers were destined by the Goddess to become the Alphas when Alex was stepping down. The three boys were the first ever Alphas that had been born mirror images of one another, making them exceptionally gifted as strong Alphas. All across the land they were known as pure royalty. Usually only one heir would become the Alpha, the strongest wolf, but Alpha Alex decided early on that his sons were equally strong and all deserved to rule his kingdom. They all had Alpha blood coursing through their bodies. The eldest of the triplets was Eagan. He was the smart calculated wolf. Eagan was stern, and harsh at times. He seemed to be the natural born leader even amongst his strong brothers. After Eagan, Axel encompassed his given name. The name Axel meant ‘father of peace’, and he was truly the middle man amongst his brothers. A mediator. Then came Jonas, the youngest of the boys. Jonas was the kind-spirited wolf. He would never allow his subjects or loved ones to suffer. Due to their opposing personalities, Alpha Alexander saw that the three would rule best together. It was an unprecedented event, and the whole kingdom was on edge knowing that the boys would soon come to power. … Celeste After sitting in my room for a minute admiring the beautiful talisman that now hung around my neck, I quickly showered and headed out into the forest. Whenever I went out, I wore an emerald cape to conceal my human identity. Many creatures did this, so not to cause a spectacle when crossing through towns not of their kind. While most were friendly, the species were not necessarily into fraternizing with each other. However, growing up in a mixed race orphanage, I did have close friends that were different. Today I wanted to visit my bestfriend, a Fae. Here in Moon Gorge many people walked around in their true forms. Werewolves wandered as their large dog-like selves. The Fae flew around in their smaller magical bodies. Humans were truly the odd-men out. I began my journey walking through the dense trees. Soon I came to the edge of The Enchanted Forest, a favorite hangout for the younger wolves of the kingdom. I heard howling close and kept my head low. Wolves weren’t particularly dangerous, but they could be quite playful with humans. They knew they were superior in every way. Size, speed, and strength. The Enchanted Forest was breathtaking. It had a glowing aura, with plants that were all incredibly unique. I looked around as if I hadn’t ever been through before. Buds of light flickered all around, lighting the dense canopied area. To my left I heard a snap of a branch. My eyes zipped to where the sound came from. Please just be a small forest animal. My voice in my head was more afraid than I was. How ridiculous. There it stood. The biggest wolf I had ever seen in person. Just a few feet from me stood the wolf, four times the size of a regular wolf. It’s fur was jet black and shiny, long and healthy. Definitely a Beta or something. I bowed my head, hoping the wolf wasn’t interested in making a scene. Maybe it was just passing by and greeting me. But when I returned my eyes to the glowing green orbs, they were trained on my emerald. “Hello, I mean no trouble. Just passing through to Faerendale,” I waved my hand in white-flag style. The humongous wolf sat, and purred a low growl. What did it want? It looked at me quizzically. “I don’t know what you’re saying, I am not a wolf.” I raised an eyebrow and dropped my hood. My curly locks fell down around my head. The wolf’s eyes left the emerald to look at my uncovered hair. I swear I heard it chuckle. In a quick flash, the wolf transformed to its human form. Naked, tall, and tan. The man smiled to me. “I know you’re not a wolf, I can tell by your human scent.” He said matter of factly. His eyes were still glowing green, his hair was the same color of his wolf’s fur. He was incredibly handsome. If I wasn’t so terrified right now, I would be swooning over him probably like the other girls of Moon Gorge. “I’m just passing through, my apologies,” my voice came out more annoyed than I wanted to portray. I had never had a wolf stop me before. I was starting to grow tired of this odd exchange. “Are you a witch?” He said, looking back down to my talisman. I snorted at his inquiry. “Maybe. What’s it to you?” s**t. He walked a bit closer, my eyes were trying their best to stay trained on his face, and not his muscular body. His glowing eyes narrowed at me. “Do you know who I am?” He asked snidely. I shook my head. I could not afford to let my snotty mouth respond. The man started to circle me. “Eagan.” His name hit me like a ton of bricks. The soon to be Alpha. Alpha Alexander’s eldest.
