Assistant FBI Director Mitch Tanner walked into the room and stood at the head of a walnut conference table that seated twenty-four. All of the seats were taken. He wasted no time with greetings. “You've all got a copy of pertinent case information. The tables contain data on the accounts from which each of the amounts were taken. Your job is to follow the money from the initial deposit through its arrival at each of the organizations that received these big gifts. I need this in the next twenty-four hours. Questions?”
“Yeah,” Senior Agent Clark responded. “I looked at the data. Every one of the accounts from which money was taken belongs to Russian Oligarchs or Russian corporations controlled by or close to Vladimir Putin, is that right?”
