"God, it's busy tonight," I observed.
"Yeah and this b*tch can't sing!" Katie grimaced and used her thumb to point at the stage where some chick was screeching out a Whitney Houston song.
Friends do not let drunk friends sing Whitney, Celine or Mariah. It's an unspoken karaoke rule.
Katie pushed the request book at me. "Pick a song."
Oh, no. I was not here for a karaoke war.
"Not happening. I'm not getting up there," I shook my head and pushed the book back at her.
She narrowed her eyes at me. "You promised!"
I shook my head again. "Oh, no I didn't. I said I'd go out with you. I didn't say we would have some epic karaoke battle."
