I was racing towards the nearest hospital, but it was still forty miles south. I kept trying to call 911, but my signal wasn't strong enough.
"Any luck?" Mason asked.
I was afraid to tell him the truth, but I couldn't lie to him. I looked at him through the rearview mirror. "No, man. I'm sorry. I'm not giving up though."
He nodded and looked back down at Allison.
I hit my fist against the steering wheel. Then, I glanced at my phone again.
