Mason's POV
I arrived at the hospital with Katie and Evan in tow and rushed up to the desk. "Allison Cooper, please. How is she?"
The nurse behind the desk typed away on her computer before answering me. "Yes, it looks like she has been moved to a room on our Maternity Floor. I can take you, but only one of you can go at a time."
I turned to Katie who was wrapped in Evan's embrace.
"Go," she told me. "She would want to see you first."
I nodded and followed the nurse to Allison's room. She laid there hooked up to monitors and IVs. Seeing her lying there covered in bruises and cuts, tore at my heart and twisted my guts.
I rushed over to her side and took her hand in mine. "Allison...baby?"
Her eyes fluttered open. They were filled with pain and despair. "Mason..."
