It is a bright new day with loads of s**t for me to do. I prepare my meal and make lunch while having breakfast, get ready and leave to roam the Churchgate area with both my phone and my Nikon camera to take some good shots to include in the blog. After reaching there via a local train, I started with my work of taking notes and pictures, making sure to get some good shots. At the station itself, I was met with a swarm of people trying to get in or out of the train; hurrying to wherever they were supposed to reach. One could meet such a diverse public only in India, especially in Mumbai, since it has every religion from all over the nation gathered there. So, I start my shots from there, taking shots of people happily living such a fast-tracked life with such ease.
India is known to have a very diverse culture with so many different languages and religions, beliefs, values, etc. And it was my dream to travel all over my nation to learn about this diversified culture and help with its knowledge to inform as many people as I can through my writings and creativity. And Mumbai is the start of fulfilling my dream. I roam around the whole Churchgate and nearby places to take note of all the places with amazing views or places worth snapping shots of, all day long. One of the prominent and most time-consuming was Marine drive, which by far is the best place for me in the whole of Mumbai. Marine Drive has the best view of the ocean and sky meeting together and one can spend the whole night there staring at the stars and water. It has a peace that most of us can only wish for in today's world.
I left marine drive after watching the sunset there and taking some shots of the view that it provided. I reached home and just laid there on the sofa in the hall for a while and, after taking a relaxing shower, started putting the snaps and the notes together on my laptop and started with 'The Marine Drive Blog'. I finished it around 10 in the night and was getting ready to sleep after having a glass of milk. However, as soon as I hit the bed, the doorbell rang and I stood up groaning to see who it was at the door at that time of the day. And, it was none other than Vishal; but he was heavily drunk. I let him in and led him to the sofa, dropped him there, and went to prepare a glass of lemonade for him or he would get up with a massive hangover in the morning. When I was leaving for my room thinking that he passed out, he caught my hand and started mumbling something, which at first i thought was incoherent; but soon i heard my name and was tempted to hear out what my intoxicated best friend had to say about me while he thought he was at his place.
I got closer to make out what he was saying and heard him calling himself an i***t who was so sure that he would never fall in love again but yet again here he was. I was thrilled yet confused as to who was he talking about, and soon he cleared my confusion by a confession that shocked me to my core. I tried to not let the confession affect me so much because I was sure he will forget all about it in the morning. Yet, my heart didn't let me get up from the floor beside him and I spent the night looking after my drunk best friend who had made a mortifying confession blissfully unaware of the havoc he created.
However, not wanting things to get awkward I got up before him after sleeping in the sitting position beside him the whole night. After making breakfast and having a black coffee for us both and having mine, I went to have a long soothing shower to calm my nerves and gather myself, so I can keep his confession off my mind. But, when I got out of the shower, Vishal was finally awake and just like I thought unaware of his own words and was holding his head in his hands, probably wondering how he ended up on the sofa in my hall. I wished him morning and thought to put him out of his misery by letting him know what he had told me the night before about how his brother dropped him here since he insisted on it.
Vishal finally relaxed and asked about what else did he say horrifying me for a moment as I thought that he remembered what he said last night. But thankfully it was an innocent question since he was quite literally hammered and wanted to know what else happened. I told him all except the part of his confession and showed him his black coffee which I laid on the table before having a shower for him to get rid of the hangover. One could practically see the relief in his eyes on seeing the black coffee. After having that he went to freshen up in the bathroom and told me that he would leave for the office directly from here after breakfast. During breakfast, I asked him how come he drank so much in the middle of the night. He said it was an event and after it got over early they all decide to drink a little but it turned into a drinking game which he won but was hammered to another level and he was thankful for me taking care of him and preparing breakfast for him.
While leaving he also told me how he had a word with his boss and told him about me and my work and his boss said to ask me to visit him sometime his week in the evening after 4 pm, to which I thanked him and agreed for Friday since we will be having a house party at my place that night and I and Vishal can both return from his office together. However, after he left I was left alone with my thoughts which was not a good idea, hence I took my laptop and started reviewing the blog I finished yesterday so as to submit it before noon. After reviewing and submitting the blog I decided to cook a healthy and heavy lunch for the day since after yesterday it was sure that I wouldn't get much time and nor have much energy to cook the dinner.
After a hearty meal, I decided to look for more drool and read-worthy places near me with natural yet breathtaking views and took note of all of them. I kept working and before I knew it the day came to an end, after having a conversation with my other bestie Soori (Mansoor), I went to have a good night's sleep.
