Part IV: Forgiveness is a virtue.
As the years passed, I thought about forgiving Mercedes For that incident but I didn't know when the time was right. My dad took me to church at the Bridge in June 2017 and I fell in love with the church. I was taught forgiveness and other religious virtues. Now I knew the time was right but did not know when.
October blew in with its cold and dreary weather, I was employed at the region's greatest retirement village and living on my own. It was 2017 and I was 23. It was a gloomy cold October Friday morning. I went downstairs to the office at First Resources where I lived. I went to meet with my habilitation worker Robert. Stevie Parsonswas a sorta husky balding millennial with an obsession for video games, sports, superheroes, adult animation, fantasy, and sci-fi. We were like brothers. He asked me to go to Oskaloosa with him. I said, "Si." We left at 8:45 for Osky to run errands for a transitional home near the square in Osky. We stopped there and grabbed the shopping list of stuff needed and headed to Walmart.
We got to Walmart five minutes later, I enjoyed helping out and we got to the check-outs. I saw this girl in plaid and leggings who looked like she came out of the tanning booth. She looked familiar but I couldn't remember where. She went to the ladies room. I still thought about where I saw her before. She walked out of the ladies room, looked at me, and smiled. She said gleefully, "oh my gosh, Stardust , it's been years." It was Mercedes All right. I said happily, "Good to see you, Mercedes." I told her courageously, " I Forgive you for 6th hour freshman year." She smiled and said, "Thanks. How have you been." I replied, "Working and got my own apartment. How about you?" She said, "That is awesome. I'm raising my daughter and working." I said, ", I'm glad you're doing well." I asked for a selfie just to realize we left our phones in the cars. I smiled and said farewell. I told Rob that I finally forgiven someone after 8 years. He was very proud of me. We got the goods in his Pontiac and headed to the house and back to Ottumwa. I realized I had courage but the time was right.
It was September 2018. It has been almost 11 months since I forgave Mercedes. I had just walked away from my almost 8 dollar an hour job at Penn Place because of an unreasonable boss trying to fire me. That weekend I got baptized and committed myself to the lord. Stevie Parsonsbecame my IHH coordinator. I was waiting for his replacement's replacement to come. I had just gotten a job offer and pay cut and hour cut. It was time to get my life back on track after Penn Place
the yIt was December 2018, I had just hired on at the coal palace. I had just gotten my new hab worker that previous Autumn. Her name was Daisy or Tiny. Daisy is a dwarf around 5 foot zero, less than a hundred pounds and a female version of Robert. She is very kind and caring. It was two weeks before Christmas and I went down to the office to wait for Daisy to take me to Oskaloosa for My dentist appointment at Dr. Moore's office where Mercedes Was a dental hygienist. Daisy showed up at 9:30 and took me to Oskaloosa where Dr. Moore was on Highway 92. I entered the office and told them I was here to see Dr. Moore for an appointment. Mercedes Was working and she said, "Morning Dustin." I said, "Morning, Mercedes." I visited with a few and introduced her to Daisy . I took a photo with her on my iPhone and uploaded it to f*******:. I got my teeth cleaned and checked. I told Daisy as we left I've known Mercedes For GC 10 years from my days at E-B-F and I had a rocky start with her but I forgave her. Daisy told me, " Awesome." I smiled and hoped for the best for mine and Mercedes's friendship.
I went up and Mercedes filled up my teeth in July. Her and Daisy interacted and got a selfie of all three of us. She is doing well with another kid on the way. We're still good friends despite the first 2 years being a nightmare but I forgave her and moved on. All is well
