Sable Wallows In Dirty Work
Sable openly smirked at Vance when he answered her summons to appear at Venusburg on the Wednesday evening before her Friday birthday, nearly a week after his last visit with Elise. “Thank you for collecting al the gifts for me,” she said. “Come in.”
“My pleasure. I had an excuse for avoiding Elise.”
Sable led Vance through the parlor into the front study. “Honey has rigged the computer system at Landry and Grubber and sent the ransom note from his home computer. Tomorrow we’ll free you from Big Bad Elise. I want you to meet someone.”
“Laugh if you want to,” Vance pouted, “but Elise is a psychopath.”
