After Gunner adjourned his meeting in the study, Sable led Mrs. Roman, Honey, and Nastassia into the Grand Ballroom to choose partners. Every dance at Venusburg was Ladies’ Choice, and Sable quickly tapped Gunner. Honey snagged Vance, nearly seducing him on the dance floor with her expressive flesh squirming under gold lamé. Mrs. Roman took T.J.’s hand and led him, nearly kicking and screaming, into a slow dance—not that he objected to dancing with her. In fact, he enjoyed her nearness too much.
