The sounds resonated in Alexander’s ears as soon as he entered the club. You know, the typical club.
The Gossip Gang: The gang of next-door ladies who gather only to gossip all the nonsense on this earth.
The Unfortunate Soul: That single guy who sits in the corner of the bar with his favorite drink and stare at everyone in the bar.
The Boozoholics: There is a reason for the bars to make a killing profit.
The Dance Freaks: The self-proclaimed best dancers who do the snake dance on the dance floor.
Alexander spots his gang and quickly moves towards them. “Wassup, guys?”
“There’s a problem,” said Jude. Alexander raised his brows in a questioning manner to which Jude pointed towards their friend who sat in the corner with a sulky face, Lucas.
“What happened to you?” Alexander asked him as he settled in the seat.
“My parents keep giving me the talks of getting married and having kids, every day,”
“Dude, chill. You are a 36-year-old grown-ass. It is only normal for your parents to do that,” Marvin articulated making everyone in the table go on silent mode.
“Why don’t you try looking for a girl seriously?” asked Jude.
“Where do I find a girl?-” he swallowed, scared of getting another swat pat from Marvin, “-It’s not like I can just any girl to my parents and tell them she is my wife and your daughter-in-law.”
Marvin pointed his head to the crowd in the club. The boys started scanning the crowd to find a girl for Lucas. Even just to try out.
Alexander looked through the crowd and his eyes landed on the bar counter. A girl. A bartender.
She was wearing a plain fitted button-up shirt and dark slim jeans. Hairs tied into a ponytail and a warm smile plastered on her face. A smile that was infectious. The smile that made Alexander look back at her again and again. Definitely not for Lucas, rather to…him.
Alexander stood up from his seat, “Um, guys, I’m gonna get some drinks,”
“There are drinks here,” Jude pointed at their table which was literally filled with only drinks.
“My drink!” Alexander strode towards the bar counter, eyes still on her. He leaned onto the counter making her aware of his presence. She looked up at him and asked, “Yes, sir?”
Her gaze was all over his body, a very beautiful at that, sharp jaw, dark eyes, and the darker hair that was styled very well. Her mouth went dry, she simply stared at him. Get a bloody grip of yourself, Rose, she thought.
“Whiskey Sour, please,” he told her with a smile that made her heart sing. The man could really do a lot with just a few words and a smile.
“Coming right up.” She fixed his drink real quick and passed it to him.
“Thank You!” Alexander grinned, but more to himself.
Alexander got back to his table only to be questioned by Marvin.
“Seems like someone has caught your attention,”
He sighed. “Something like that.”
“You could break your duck tonight,”
Alexander laughed out loudly, “Yes, But, not here.”
“Someone is waiting for you?”
“Jessie!”
“Oh that sub, she is whipped by you. Why don’t you consider trying it out with her?”
“Not my type,”
“As far as I know you have had a few one-night stands and except for Jessie you haven’t had a sub for more than once,”
“What’s your point?”
“After all this, you are saying she is not your type,”
“She’s great as a sub okay. I have marvelous sessions with her and she too gets satisfied. But just not for me to have permanently. I don’t feel connected to her on an emotional level,”
“If you say so,”
“What about her?” Marvin pointed towards the bartender.
“I don’t know,”
“Come here,” Marvin said and pulled Alexander back to the bar counter.
“Why are you taking me there?” Alexander asked confused by his friend’s actions.
“Just come,”
“Hey Rose,” Marvin got Rosella to completely towards them.
“Hey, Boss,”
“This guy here is my best friend,”
“Alexander Carter,” Alexander put out his hand which Rose did shake, “Rosella Anderson,”
Marvin pretends to get a phone call and leave the place, “Um… Are you new here?”
“Yes, I joined last month,” she fiddled with her fingers that were on the edge of the table.
“Why?” she asked him just to make sure he didn’t deliver any bad words about her to her boss.
“It is just that I haven't seen you before,”
“Oh!”
“Why did you think?”
“I thought the drinks I made wasn’t good and would complain to my boss,”
Alexander burst out laughing, “Seriously, you think I would do that?”
She looked at him from tip to toe. He was still in his office clothes since he came to the club directly from the office.
“I don’t know. You might do it considering you are wearing a suit to the club with a loosened tie,”
“What’s wrong with a suit and a loosened tie?”
“Isn’t that the trademark of spoiled rich brats with some brains and hardly have any minimum decency,”
“I’m glad you think I have a brain,”
“That’s what you caught from my words. Very funny!”
With every passing word they spoke, Alexander felt he should really make this spunky girl as his. But, would she like to be owned by someone. Not everyone fancies the dominant-submissive relationship.
“Would you like to go out with me?”
“Out?As in?”
“A Date!”
“No!”
“Why?”
“Why should I?”
“Why should you not?”
“I don’t like guys like you!”
“What kind of guy am I?”
“I already said you,”
“A guy with a brain,”
“I’m starting to think about why my Boss is friends with you! He is a nice guy,”
“Hahaha! Trust me Darlin’ your boss is no saint.”
“Whatever, you better buzz of from here. I have to work,”
“No, I gonna sit here only,” Alexander pulled a chair near the bar counter and settled down in the spot. He ordered a few more drinks from her. She passed his drinks with more and more grumpiness with every drink she made for him. It was almost like she was his personal bartender.
Alexander took all the pleasure in irritating her. That was something he hadn’t done since forever. This side of him was active only for the people who were close to him if females were to be counted, then Rosella would be the fourth girl.
