I stared at the same line for the seventh time before groaning and slamming the book shut! I couldn't concentrate with everything going on!
For some indescribable reason I knew they were lying, especially Xoraxys.. he was keeping something from me, something I knew would change our lives forever. I wanted to know the truth but at the same time I was scared.
I leaned back into my chair, closing my eyes and trying to calm my thoughts, Xoraxys was my husband... He would never lie to me, this was a lie I was telling myself, deep down I knew there was something shady going on.
"Lyrien!" I called, my shadow guard appeared before of me, his stormy grey eyes searching my face. I stayed quiet for some time, observing him as he observed me. “Tell me Lyrien where does your loyalty lie... With me or Xoraxys?”
His expression unreadable but his answer curt, “You.” Me? Why couldn't I trust his words completely..? I searched his face for any sign that he was lying but as usual I couldn't read him. “Is there something wrong your highness?” Again with the formalities... I shook my head and went back to work.
Again, Silence. He said nothing and neither did I. There was a silent tension between us, something that there has never been before. “Lyrien.. do you know how one can go to the human realm?” I saw a flicker of emotion in his eyes but then it disappeared as soon as it had come.
“No” another lie, why were they always doing this to me, why were they always lying?! I got up from my chair.
“Don't follow me” I leave not bothering to see his reaction.
I needed some air, I needed to be far away from them, as I walked through the palace halls I met Xoraxys.
“My love” a smile on his face, one he had only reserved for me, he leaned in and kissed my nose a small affectionate gesture that made me almost forget the lies, “Where are you off to?” his red orbs staring into my green ones.
“I was heading to garden and you?” I ask noticing his little entourage behind him.
“A meeting with Lord Ravenswood” he didn't sound too happy about it, I felt his hands draw small circles on my hips and a mischievous smirk on his handsome face, he whispers seductively into my ears “After such a long boring meeting only my wife can entertain me” his smirk widens and his voice grows sultry “i would love to see you covered in my essence again, my marks, my love”
I smile, “I will be seeing you later then” I watch a satisfied smile grow on his face, he kissed my temples before leaving.

Later that night I work wore a stunning silk nightgown, the soft fabric draping over my body, it showed off my womanly curves. My black hair falling over my back like a gracefully waterfall.
I hear our chamber doors open to reveal Xoraxys's fine form, his eyes hungrily scanning my body. “You look beautiful meum cor” he said as he took my hand and pulled me flush against him, our faces so close that I could breathe his breath.
His hand roaming my body before settling on my hips, then moving to cup my ass, he gave it a slight squeeze before saying, his voice low and husky, “I can't wait to touch you, to claim you like it's our first” he carried me bridal style then placed me on our bed, his eyes never leaving me as he unbutton his shirt.
He shrugged it off, before climbing on top of me, positioning himself between my legs, I wrapped my arms around his neck as he kissed my neck, nibbling and sucking hard enough to send tiny jolts of pleasure through my body.
He rose up and looked at my nightgown with contempt, “Such a pesky thing, now let me see what is mine” and with that he ripped the nightwear away from my body, his sudden action making a tiny gasp escape my lips, he smirked, “Now the only thing I want to hear from you is my name and how much you love me being inside you, is that clear?" I nodded.
“Good girl” he praised, he started to leave a trail of kisses from my stomach to my breast, sucking and nibbling on my hardened n*****s, sending waves of pleasure through my body, my body reacting to his touch when something unexpected happened...
A memory...
She stood before him, her green eyes burning with hate and defiance as she stared into his cold red ones. His grip tight on her wrist preventing her from going anywhere, she struggled to get out of his hold but he was stronger than her.
“Let me go! I want to go back to my family! I don't want to be your mate!” Jade heard herself say as she struggled out of Xoraxys's hold.
Xoraxys's expression turned cold, he was obviously sick of her constant defiance, he used his free hand to grab throat, a little reminder of their power dynamic, his hold was enough to keep her in place but not suffocate her.
He leaned closer, his voice low and menacing as he spoke “You don't have a choice Jade, you're mine, always has been always. So get that little thought out of your head that I will ever let you go!”
And just like that she snapped out of it!
When I finally came back to the present I found Xoraxys's worried self looking down at me.
“Jade? What's wrong?” his voice laced with concern, it made me wonder if this was the same Xoraxys from my memory.
Her memory... My body tensed, without thinking I pushed Xoraxys away and when I had realized what I had done she had no explanation for it, it just felt right..
“What's wrong Jade?! You look pale” I tried to calm her racing heart, I wanted to ask him about that night but she knew he would lie about it so I forced a smile on her face and and tried to act normal,
“Nothing is wrong, I was just out of it for a while...” I pause for a while “Can we do this some other day.... I am not in the mood” his expression changed but then he sighed and kissed my forehead,
“Sure go to bed, I will join you after I take a shower” and with that he walked into the en-suite bathroom, I hear the bathroom door close and the sound of running water fill the tub.
With a sigh I plop myself on the bed, I had no idea how to feel, maybe I should be angry? I was a bit upset, Xoraxys was hiding things from me, from my memory I mentioned a family but he had told me I had none, and from my memories I was obviously he had taken me away from my family and my life.
I groaned softly, as much as I didn't want to believe he was lying to me it was as clear as day that something wasn't right.
