Chapter Ten; Thanksgiving Part 2;

I was sitting on the couch, while I waiting for my dad and Luke to come inside, I didn’t really talk to anymore. Finally when the door opened, I just saw my dad walk in.
“Maddie, you need to leave my house.” He said.
She grabbed her stuff and went outside. My dad walked up to me, and he didn’t look to happy.
“I don’t even know where to begin with you, Gracelyn.”
“What did you and Luke talk about?”
“I told him to never see you again..I told him to never come around here again.”
“What why?”
“Cause you thought you need to hide your relationship with Luke for three months! Grace, he’s an older man, he my bestfriend, he’s..”
“He’s my boyfriend who I love, dad! You can’t keep me from him.” I said as I interrupted him.
“Oh yeah you think that?” He replied. “If you continue this relationship with Luke, then you need to move out. You need to pack your stuff up and leave. I raised you better then this, Grace. But you will also cut off everything.”
“Michael!” My mom said.
“No, that is her choice..” he said as he walked away from me.
I shook my head as tears fell down my face. I ran up upstairs to pack a bag to leave. Just then Stephan knocked on my door and walked in.
“Really? Stephan can you just leave me alone. You couldn’t just leave, you had to mess with him, you had to piss him off! I don’t want you, I don’t wanna even look at you. You lost your chance, so do me a favor and stay out of my life.” I said as I finished packing my bag and walked past him to leave.
I grabbed my jacket, keys and purse before walking out and slamming the door. I got in my car and drove, I wasn’t gonna drive to Luke’s just yet, I needed to clear my head and give him time to cool down. After driving around for a little bit, I headed over to Lukes. Once I got there and I was heading up to his apartment, I suddenly felt nervous. I knocked on his door, not knowing how he was gonna react. Just then the door opened and I saw he look sad, broken almost like. I just got closer to him and hugged him, he hugged me back. As he kiss the top of my head, he said, “Grace, you can’t be here right now.”
“No I want you, only you. I love you Luke. My dad just doesn’t understand. Like you said I’m adult, I can choose who I wanna be with.”
“Grace..”
“Please, don’t turn me away..” I said as tears fell down my face.
“Come in.”
I let go of him, grabbed my bag and walked into his apartment. I sat down on his couch, and just started crying. He grabbed me a glass of water and came over to me.
“I don’t know what to do, if I choose you, I lose my dad. If I choose my dad, I lose you.”
“You shouldn’t choose me, as much as I love you, I think you should give your dad what he wants. No matter what, I will always be here for you, Grace.”
“No no no. I cant picture my life without you in it.”
He grabbed me and brought me in for a hug. Hugging him was the best, I couldn’t imagining not being able hug him, and kiss him again.
“Luke, I love you.”
“I love you, babe, but..”
“But nothing.”
“No Grace, I have to leave at 1:30 am to catch my flight. I got an early flight when I left your house.”
“Take me with you, please.”
“Grace..”
“Luke..please.”
“Grace, I can’t. We need time to think.”
When he said that to me, I got up and grab my bag and left. I felt hurt, I don’t where I was gonna go or what I was gonna do. I pulled my phone out and called Abby.
“Hello?”
“I know it’s Thanksgiving, and I know you probably with your family, but I need somewhere to go.”
“I was actually about to leave my grandparents house, you wanna meet me at my apartment. Are you ok?”
“No I am not. I’ll meet you there.”
I got into my car and drove to Abby’s place. When I got there, I knocked on the door and then Matt answered the door. I was in tears, honestly just a straight up mess.
“Hey, Grace. I was just heading out to give you guys some privacy. I hope you ok.” He said as he passed me.
When I walked in Abby gave me a hug, and she asked me what’s wrong. That’s when I filled her in about everything.
“Wait so you were dating Lucas James this entire time, even when you went on dates with Andrew.” She said shocked.
“Yes, and now i think it’s all over.”
“So you think he broke up with you?”
“I don’t know..”
“Do you think Andrew knew then?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well didn’t know Maddie and Andrew are cousins.”
“What? No!”
Just then my phone beeped. I looked at it and it was a text from Lucas.
Lucas: I am sorry, and I love you. Hope your ok. I’m always here for you remember that.
“I think we know the answer..” I said as I showed her the text.
“I am sorry, Grace. If you need to crash here, you can. We have the guest bedroom.”
“Thanks I don’t even know if I have a job anymore..yesterday my life was going great, today my life is an disaster.”
“Girl, we need a girls night. Let’s go out tonight, just me and you. There’s some bars open tonight, let’s hit one or two.”
“Yes, I need a drink or few.” I said.
“Good let’s start getting ready. You wanna wear that cute dress or borrow one.”
“Borrow.”
We went into her room and I tried on a few sexy dresses. I found a sliver one I liked, we did our hair and make up. It took us about a few hours. After we were ready, we called an Uber to take us. Our Uber arrived and I wasn’t gonna think about him tonight, I was gonna have some fun. We got to our first bar, and we ordered some drinks, and shots. The faster I get drunk the better chance I won’t think of him.
Guys started buying us shots, we started dancing and having a good old time. When I walked over to grab another drink, my phone went off again.
Lucas: Grace, are you ok? Did you make it home safely?If you need anything, just call me.
I rolled my eyes as I put my phone on silent. That’s when I noticed, Andrew on the other side of the bar. I walked over, I was a little tipsy.
“Hey!” I said as I tapped his shoulder.
“Hey you.” He said after he turned around, and saw it was me.
“I have a question for you..”
“Ask away, beautiful.” He said to me, he’s never stopped flirting me after I told him I wanted to work on myself after our second date months ago.
“Are you really related to Maddie?”
“Like Madison Shein, my cousin?”
“Yes, so you are related to her..”
“Yes but I haven’t talked to her in years, she’s kind of a horrible person.”
“You don’t say, she kind of just ruined my whole life.”
“What? Are you ok?”
“Right now, I’m fine.” I said laughing.
“I’m sure you are.” He said smiling.
“You wanna order me another drink?”
He nodded as he ordered me another one.
He handed me my drink, I grabbed his hand as we went to look for Abby!
“There you are..hey Andrew!” Abby said when she spotted us.
“Call Matt! Girls night plus 2 guys?”
“Ok yeah, I’ll go call him.” She said as she started walking away.
“So you’re letting me crash girls night, huh? Are you sure?”
“You’re gonna make me lonely on Thanksgiving?” I said making a puppy dog face.
“I would never do that, gorgeous.” He said.
That’s when I reached in for a kiss, he kissed me back and wrapped his arms around me. After we broke apart, he grabbed my hand and he walked out to the dance floor. We started dancing like no one else was in the room with us. Itwas like I forgot I was upset, forgot about all my problems, I was just free and having fun. When Matt arrived, we stopped dancing, and started drinking more, shots more like it. Matt wasn’t drinking because he was gonna drive us all home. Honestly the was the last thing I remember, cause the next morning I woke up in Abby’s guest bedroom, confused, n***d, and not alone.
Andrew was laying next to me, my head was pounding, I just felt like complete crap. I reached for my phone and seen it was 10:27 am. Also had a lot of missed called and texts from Eli, and Lucas.
I got up and put some pj pants and a shirt on, walked out of the room and then headed towards the balcony where I dialed Eli’s number.
“Hello? Grace?”
“Hey.”
“Oh thank god. You had us worried. Where have you been?”
“I went out with Abby last night, and got drunk. I’m fine. Whose we?”
“Luke and I. He called me and told me he had not been able to contact you after you left, he was worried.”
“Ah ok. Well I’m staying at Abby’s. I’m fine. I gotta go though, drank too much don’t feel good.” I said before hanging up the phone.
I walked back into the house, and went into her bathroom to grab some aspirin, and then went to get a couple of water bottles before walking back into the bedroom. Andrew was starting to wake up,
“What time is it? Where am I?” He said as he started to sit up.
“I take it you don’t remember much either, here take these.” I said as I handed him a couple pills, and the water bottle.
Just then my phone beeped, I looked down it was a message from Luke.
Lucas: Glad your ok, I was worried!! Please talk to me..
I locked my phone and put in on the night stand.
“So did we have s*x last night or was I the only one n***d?” He asked.
“I think so, cause I woke up that way too.”
He then grabbed my waist and pulled me back so I was laying with him, he then kissed me and I didn’t stop him. He pulled away, I smiled at him.
“I have to get ready and go to my parents house to go get some of my things.” I said to him.
“Ok, do you want my help?” He asked.
I didn’t know what to say, I wouldn’t mind his help and which means I didn’t have to walk into my parents house alone, but the same time I didn’t want him to think we were a thing because I’m not ready for that.
