The Relationship with My Dad’s Bestfriend

Chapter Two; Welcome home kiss.

I woke up to text from Grace.

Grace: I’ll try hard not to but all I have is cute clothes. So you might be screwed. Lol.

Grace: goodnight.

And then I had a couple text from Maddie, my exgirlfriend.

Maddie: Lunch today? I miss you..

Maddie: Or dinner?

I wasn’t really in the mood to deal with Maddie’s drama today. I didn’t reply to either of them. I got up and got some coffee, when there was a knock on my door. I answered it and it was Andrew, my neighbor.

“Hey, Neighbor. Do you have some coffee? I forgot to pick some up and don’t want to run out yet. “ he asked.

“Yeah come in. I’ll make you a cup.” I said to him as we walked to the kitchen.

“So what’s new buddy? You back with Maddie yet?” He asked.

“No, and honestly don’t know if I wanna get back with her. I’m tired of the drama that comes with that relationship. Plus I don’t know, maybe start finding someone to start a future with. I’m 32 now, I need find a more non toxic relationship.” I said to him.

“Wow, bro. Proud of ya. That relationship wasn’t health for you. Anyone in mind you see yourself being with?” He asked.

“Well, kind of. I don’t know it complicated. When I saw her, that when I realize I wanted that and didn’t wanna think about Maddie anymore.”

“Who is this god of a woman who has changed your view on Maddie?”

“You know my buddy, Michael? He has a daughter in her 20s, I have never looked at her in the way I see her now. She just moved back from Texas, from a bad breakup. But I can’t get her out of my head. It’s wrong because it’s Michaels daughter.”

“Michael has a daughter?”

“Yeah here I’ll show you a picture.” I said as I pulled my phone out and brought up her social media with her picture.

“Why does she look so familiar?” He asked, then I could tell it hit him. He pulled his phone out, and showed me her online dating profile. He apparently matched with her last night.

“See..maybe this is a sign I shouldn’t try anything with her.” I pulled out my phone and texted Maddie.

Me: Do you want to goto a bbq with me later? …as friends, Maddie. I think we should stay friends for now..

“If anyone can detract me from Grace, it’s Maddie. I’m not proud of it but it’s my only opinion.”

Later that day.

I got ready, and headed out to pick up Maddie. Once I picked her up, she hopped in my car and went to kiss me. I pushed her back, “I’m serious this time, we are just friends right now.” I said to her. She didn’t look very happy but moved on from it fast. When we showed up, we walked out back, and saw there was a lot of people already there. I walked over to grab me and Maddie a drink, and I handed her the drink. That’s when I saw Grace, she was starring right at us, upset. I didn’t know why she looked upset, it’s not like she was flirting with me back. Plus I’m just friends with Maddie. I watched how she walked away, I was debating on if should go after her, but then Michael walked up to us.

“Oh Maddie, glad you can join us!” He said smiling at her.

“Thanks for letting me come. I can’t wait to meet your daughter.” She said to him.

Just then my phone buzzed in my pocket while they were talking.

Grace: So you flirt with me one day then bring your girlfriend to my welcome home party? **angry face.**

Me: She’s not my girlfriend anymore, we are just friends. She wanted to hang out, it’s not like I can go up to you and flirt with you in front of everyone. I need a distraction from you, cause all I want to do grab you.

Grace: I’ll distract you alright.. *devil emoji**

I was worried on what she meant by that, Maddie and I walked around, was talking to some people when I noticed her. She was in a light blue strapless summer dress, now she’s in a red mini shirt with a see through top on over her bikini top. When she noticed me, she gave me an evil look and winked at me. Then walked up right to us,

“Oh glad you can make it, Lucas and nice to see you again, Maddie.”

“Do you guys know each other?” I asked.

“Why yes, she’s Shauna’s annoying little sister’s annoying friend.” She replied to her.

“Yeah I am actually. Well you guys have fun. Thanks for coming.” She said with a bright evil smile on her face.

“I’ll be right back.” I said to Maddie as I headed inside to head to the bathroom. As I was in the bathroom, pacing back and forth, I realized I needed to kiss her. I pulled my phone out..

Me: Meet me in the guest upstairs bathroom. Please!

I waiting for 5 minutes before I hear the door open and I turned around and there she is standing. I walk closer to her and pushed the door closed then pushed her against the door as I kissed her passionately. She started kissing back and wrapped her arms around my neck. She was a good kisser, I couldn’t stop. Finally our lips separated, we were out of breath.

“What are we doing? We can’t be doing this??” She asked me.

“The moment I saw you yesterday, I knew I wanted to kiss you. I didn’t know I had feeling like this for you til yesterday. When you weren’t flirting with me back yesterday, I just knew it wasn’t gonna happen and I needed to be normal around you, til I woke up to your text. I wanted those lips and I got them. That’s the only reason I brought Maddie, was detract myself from you, because I knew I couldn’t have you.” I said to her not moving far from her face.

“I have had this silly crush on you since maybe 16 I think. I thought I could grow out of it later on, but when I saw you yesterday it all came back to me. Then when you started flirting with me I was trying to hide it, but couldn’t. All I wanted to do is kiss you, but this can’t happen again. My dad will kill you and never forgive me.” She replied with.

“What your dad doesn’t know won’t hurt him. We will date around, and when we are alone, we belong to each other. No serious relationships, tho. I just want to kiss you again.”

“Then kiss me you crazy man.” She said, then I couldn’t help myself and I locked lips with her again.

After a few minutes, we decided to go back to the party. As she was about to open the door to leave, I grabbed her by the waist, got close to her and said, “will you please change back I in your dress for me??”

She nodded her head and walked out of the bathroom. I walked out a few secs after her and headed back out to the party. Soon after I watched as Grace returned to the party, changed in the dress she was first wearing, I mean that dress doesn’t help either, But better then what she was wearing. We were all hanging out and eating, when I couldn’t take my eyes off of Grace. I would usually talk to Maddie and detract myself, but Maddie went off to talk to some people she knew here. My phone buzzed and i pulled it out to see it was from Grace.

Grace: Stop starring, your making it clear as day who you are starring at.

I smiled at the text, then looked up at her, I saw her laughing. I replied with something that I know will turn her face red.

Me: kind of hard to not stare at your beauty, that smile and laughing :)

I saw her opening the message as I looked up, and her face turning red. I couldn’t help but laugh.

Grace: STOP IT

Awhile, later I saw getting ready to head out. I didn’t want to go say goodbye to Grace because I want to give her a goodnight kiss but I know I can’t. I said bye to some people including Michael and Betty. Maddie and I headed out. I dropped Maddie off, before she got out of the car.

“I could tell tonight, you were trying to distract yourself from something.” She said to me.

“What do you mean?” I asked her acting confused, hoping she didn’t know.

“Distracting yourself from me..we’re better as a couple. Admit it, you miss me.” She said.

“Maddie, I love you and sometimes yes I do miss you. But I don’t miss the drama, I don’t miss the fighting, I don’t miss that part. I think it’s better if we’re just friends.” I said to her.

“Ok. I know you’ll be back soon. You always are. You’ll see, there’s no one out there better for you then me. I’ll be waiting for your call.”

“Goodnight Maddie.” I replied.

She winked at me then got out of my car. I was heading home when I heard my phone go off. I opened the message to see it was from Grace.

Grace: well I didn’t get a goodbye hug. I didn’t know you left until my dad told me. :(

Me: I didn’t what detract you from your friends, plus it’s hard to say goodbye to you, cause I wanted to kiss you goodnight.

Grace: then come kiss me goodnight. Almost everyone is gone, and I can meet you down the road..please

Me: be there in 10

I put my phone down and turned around. I headed to meet Grace. She texted me where she was. I saw her and pulled over to let her in.

“Drive.” She said.

“Where?”

“Anywhere!” She said with a smile.

We started just driving around and started talking. Getting to know each other more. She grabbed my hand and held it. I looked seeing her smile and laugh, her eyes and her smile are my face two features about her.

“So do you want that goodnight kiss?” She asked me.

“Well yes I do. My new obsession is kissing those lips of yours.”

“ Then drive to your place.” She said.

I did what she told me to do. When we parked,

“I just want you to know I am not having s*x with you tonight. But I want to lay in your arms, tonight.”

I smiled at her, as I got out of the car and walked over to the other side to let her out. I grabbed her hand as we walked up to the elevator that goes up to my apartments. When we were on my floor, as we were walking to my apartment, I asked,

“Are you spending the night? Do you want to wear something of mine to be more comfortable?”

She smiled at me and nodded her head. We got inside and I went to get a old tshirt of mine and a pair of boxers. I handed them to her, she headed to the bathroom to change. When she came out, she snuggled up next to me on the couch,

“So about that goodnight kiss?” She asked.

I didn’t answer her, and I just kissed her, I been craving those lips since I last kissed her. After kissing her, I wrapped my arms around her as I watched her fall asleep.

I whispered in her ear, “Do you want to goto bed with me, beautiful?”

She nodded her head, I picked her up and laid her in my bed. I changed and crawled in on the other side and cuddled up next to her as I fell asleep.

I was all comfy in bed when I felt movement, I open my eyes a little bit, to find Grace crawling outta bed.

“Hey, where you trying to run to?” I said to her,

“I gotta head home.”

I look over at my phone and seen it’s 7 am.

“Let me take you home then.” I said to her as I was climbing out of bed.

“No it’s ok, I don’t want to be seen in your car in case we pass my parents, I calling an Uber.”

I walked over to the other side of the bed, and kissed her.

“By the way Goodmorning beautiful.” I said to her before giving her another kiss. “I have to get ready..” that’s when I hear a knock at my door.

“It’s probably my neighbor, just get ready in here. I’ll come get you to take you downstairs when I get rid of him.” I said as I kissed her one more time before walking out of the room.

When I asked the door to my surprise it was Michael. My eyes grew wide,

“Hey what are you doing here?” I asked him. As I grab my phone outta my pocket.

“Betty and I are taking you to breakfast. We would like you to meet someone, I would interdicted at the party yesterday but you had to bring Maddie…she’s not here right?”

“Oh, no she not. Just me.” I said as I texted Gracie to warn her her dads here.

“So you in?” He asked me.

“Yes, I’ll meet you downstairs after I get ready.” I replied.

He nodded as he walked out of my apartment. I went into my room to find it empty.

“Grace? Gracelyn where are you?” I said.

She walked out of the master bathroom, I started to get dress.

“Wait til I text you that we are away from the building. Your dad and mom wait me to go breakfast with them to meet someone,” I said as I got dress fast.

I walked up to her and kissed her,

“I’ll call you later, beautiful.” I said to her as I walked out.
