Professor Kelvin/Lucas composed himself, thinking of the best way to defend his actions.
“What on earth are you saying, Doctor?” Mrs. Teresa asked, trying hard to control her anger.
“She has been in coma for almost three years, why don’t we just make it three years before we give up? I believe in miracle, I might be a doctor, but I also believe God existence and he is a miracle worker who can do all things. I attended church yes—“ he was saying, but Charles cut in.
“What on earth are you saying, Doctor?” Charles interjected.
.
Piper found herself laughing as she looked at Lucas, even though he possessed his brother’s body, he could still see her.
.
“Yes, what am I saying?” he asked back.
“Professor, can we proceed?” Doctor Thomas asked.
“Why’re you asking for his permission, we already made up our minds so proceed,” Mrs. Teresa said, and removed the oxygen connected to the body.
“Nooooo…”. Professor Kelvin shouted, as Piper faded away and he hurried to the body, and insert the oxygen back.
“Doctors, get to work, do something. We must save her!” he shouted, and Doctor Thomas looked at him confused before he joined him.
“What on earth are you doing ?” Mrs. Teresa shouted.
“Piper, Piper please come back,” Lucas muttered.
“Father, what are the doctors doing right now? Father, you have to stop them!” Mrs. Teresa shouted.
“Just leave them alone, ma’am. Watching mere strangers who have no connections to her being this concerned makes me feel like we’re m0nsters for agreeing to send her off,” Charles said, and Mrs. Teresa looked at him.
“But it also took us some courage to make such decision. We’re ending her suffering!” Mrs. Teresa shouted.
“Teresa, that’s enough. I change my mind, I also want my granddaughter to live,” Chairman Whitney said.
“Ma’am , let’s excuse the doctors. Sir, permit me to wheel you out,” Charles said, and wheeled Chairman Whitney out.
Mrs. Teresa made a fist before storming out of the ward, and Lucas left his brother’s body.
Professor Kelvin looked around confused to see his hands on Piper’s chest.
“What’s going on? What happened to me ?” he asked, confused, and everyone in the ward looked at him.
“Sir, we’re trying to save the patient,” Doctor Thomas said.
“Why? Her family agreed to let her go,” he said, still confused.
“You insisted on saving her, sir, and her family gave in to your request,”
“Me?” he asked, his voice faded with uncertainty.
“Sir, we don’t have time," Doctor Thomas shouted, and the Professor took over.
Lucas waited in the ward impatiently waiting for Piper to return but she didn’t, he waited till the doctors successfully brought back the patient, but Piper didn’t return so he teleport to Asher’s house to confirm if she was there.

Axel tossed and turned on his bed when a message beeped into his phone, he wondered who it was and checked to see it’s Kira. After their chance encounter the last time, they exchanged contacts and she has been forcing a conversation with him since then. He reed her message and intend to end the growing friendship or relationship between them, he decide to tell her the truth about impersonating Asher the last time— he made up his mind to live the best way he can as himself, and never impersonate his brother again.
*Let’s meet in an hour, at the snacks bar we had breakfast the last time* he texted back, and left his bed to go freshen up.
*
He arrived at the snacks bar, and met her there impatiently waiting for him. She smiled at the sight of him; waving her hands.
“Good morning,” he greeted, and took the seat opposite her.
“Good morning, Asher,” he responded, and he let out a sigh.
“I apologize for the sudden request to meet,”
“No, it’s fine. I also crave for their hotdog here. It’s best for breakfast.”
“Sure, yeah. Kira, I’ve something to tell you,”
“Let’s order first. Waiter,” she called out, and a waiter approached thier table to get their order.
“I’ve been on diet, but I can’t resist their hotdogs here,” she said, and he chuckled.
“Kira, I said I’ve to tell you something,”
“Yeah, what’s it?” she asked.
“Kira, firstly let me apo—“
“Oh, our order is here,” she cut in, and he sighed heavily.
The waiter served them, and she started devouring her meal.
“Kira, listen while you eat,” he said.
“Come on, you should try it. It’s better than last time,” Kira said.
“Listen, Kira!” shouted, hitting the table to get her attention, and she looked at him taken aback.
“What? What’s so urgent?” she asked, in fear.
“Erm… I’m sorry for startling you,”
“It seems like what you want to say is quite urgent,” sne said, and he let out a sigh.
“I’m sorry, I just wanted to make something clear here. I’m, I’m not..” he was saying when he sighted Olivia.
“Axel,” Olivia called, approaching them.
“Oh, finally,” she exclaimed.
“Wh are you?” Kira asked, looking at Olivia who threw her a glare.
“Axel, you left me for this bulldog?” Olivia asked, and Kira eyes turned furry.
“Who is a bulldog? And why are you calling him Axel ?” Kira shouted.
“Asher say something,” she added.
“Asher? You must be kidding me,” Olivia said.
Axel let out a sigh in frustration, he just lost his chance to clarify his identity to Kira, and clarifying it now will cause a big mess with Olivia so he decided to act along, and tell Kira the truth once he get rid of Olivia.
“Axel, say something!” Olivia shouted, and few people at the restaurant paid attention to them.
“It’s a shame, Olivia, even now, even now you couldn’t differentiate between my brother and I,” He said, and her eyes widened.
“Asher… you, you can’t be serious,” Olivia grumbled.
“What do you mean by Axel left you? Did you had an affair with my brother ?” he asked, and she become puzzled.
“Asher…? Asher it’s you… It’s not what you think,” she said, already at lost.
“I don’t need an explanation, we already broke up. If you can’t differentiate properly between my brother and I, don’t show up in front of me next time and ruin my date,” he said, and left the table.
Kira gave Olivia a last look, and ran after Axel.

Professor Kelvin paced around in his office, trying to calculate what happened to him. The last thing he remembered was ordering Doctor Thomas to disconnect the machine connected to the patient before everything went blank, and the next, he was trying to save her live.
“What on earth happened to me?” he thought, and his phone started ringing. He trembled for a moment when he saw the caller, he exhaled heavily before he picked up.
*
* “Hello,” *
* “We would’ve take a detour, but everything went astray because of you!” the caller shouted from the other end of the line, and Professor Thomas flinched.
* “I also don’t understand what happened, my memories went blank, and somehow I found myself trying to save her,” *
* ” I know, it’s not your fault, your body was just vulnerable,” *
* “Vulnerable? What do you mean?” *
*”Never mind, you can’t understand it anyways,*
* “What do we do now?” *
* “Since the detour plan went astray, we will simply stick to our initial plan,” * with that, the call ended.
“Hello,” he said, before he dropped phone.
“Oh, she hanged up.” He muttered.
“What does she mean by I’m vulnerable?” he thought.
“I ought to go see a neurologist,” he muttered, before leaving his office.

Asher paced around in his room wondering how long he has to wait for Lucas and Piper.
“What’s taking them so long?” he thought, and Lucas appeared.
“Where is Piper?” they both asked in unison, and, Asher’s eyes widened.
“What? Don’t tell me she is not with you? Did she went to that her fiancé or whatsoever he is?” he said, within clenched teeth.
“This is not a time for you to be jealous, Asher. Something went wrong with Piper,”
“What? What went wrong?”
“They were trying to send her off l
“Send her off to where ?”
“I mean they wanted to disconnect the oxygen supply from her,”
“What?” he shouted, “What happened next?”
“They almost succeed, so Piper faded away,”
“What do you mean? Are you trying to tell me that Piper is gone?”
“I’m not sure yet, but I made sure the doctors brought her back before I left the hospital, but there was no trace of her afterwards so I assumed she might be here l
“No, she isn’t. We have to look for her,” Asher shouted
“Do you think she might’ve returned to the countryside?” he asked, later.
“I’ll go confirm,” Lucas said, and vanished, leaving Asher in thoughts.
*
Asher was lost in thoughts, thinking of what went wrong when Lucas appeared.
“Did you find anything?” he asked, anxiously.
“Nothing, there was no trace of her,”
“We’ve to do something!” Asher shouted.
“I’ll go look for Amil, she is the only one I know that can understand this situation,” Lucas said.
“So, what are you waiting for?!” Asher shouted, already frustrated.
Lucas gave him a look before he left.
*
Asher waited for more than an hour, anticipating Lucas who he finally appeared with Amil.
“Please, I hope Lucas already explained the situation to you,” Asher said.
“Yeah, her situation is kinda rare, but I think I’ve an answer to it,”
“Split the beans!” Asher shouted.
“Asher, you’ve to watch the way you talk. I might tolerate it because I also care about Piper, but others might be offended,” Lucas said, and Asher tried to keep calm.
“She is in the boder to cross over to afterlife, and if she does, she will dle completely here,” Amil said, and they both looked at her.
“What?” Lucas shouted.
“Is there a way for us to save her?” Asher asked.
“No, only she can save herself. It’s either she chooses to cross or return since there is still a little life left in her body,” Amil said.
“So what you’re trying to tell us now is that we can’t save her, she is the only one that can save herself?” Asher said, and Amil nodded.
