Going back to New York

    Lauren's POV:

I followed Nathan and his chick without them noticing me. I was watching from out Side there room which was open. I saw 2 bodies on the floor "time's up, baby" the chick said while pointing the gun on Nathan. I quickly came in the room and tapped on her shoulder and she looked at me, I punched her on the face and she fell down and passed out.

My eyes went towards Nathan and he gave me thank you smile. I went back to the church and changed my clothes and took a rest. after few minutes, the father knock the door. I stood up and opened the door. "some is her looking for you." father said. 

I went to see who it is. "you!" I said surprisedly, it was Nathan. "how did you find out where I stay?" I asked. "information is my business." Nathan said. "and what brings you here?" I asked. "you saved my life, and I can't repay you for that." he said. "but I can give you a new life in return." he added. 

"What do you mean?" I asked. "you don't remember anything from the past, doesn't matter." he said. "but you can make new memories, right?" he added. 

I started to think. it's my opportunity to take another step towards my revenge, plus I wanted someone on my side but I can't trust anyone yet. I smiled while thinking. "sure." I said while smiling. 

The next morning we flew to New York. as we arrived, Nathan's driver was waiting for us out side the airport, he was good looking and muscular. he was looking at me up and down. he was checking me. "ma'am?" the driver said after opening the car's door I snipped from my thoughts and sat in the car. we were on our way to Nathan's place. the driver was looking at me from the mirror. I was looking from the corner of my eyes, but he didn't knew cuz I was wearing sunglasses. I took my sunglasses off and I glide the window and looked outside as I was remembering Steven, we crossed beside the building where was mine and Steven home.

"What are you seeing." Nathan said while looking at me. "does this city look familiar?" he asked. I looked at him and smiled. "nothing looks familiar here, except for you." I said. the driver looked at me again from the mirror. "in this city if you know Nathan Huntington, then everyone knows you." Nathan said. I looked back towards the window. "this city has taken away a lot from me, now I've to take everything back from it." I said in my thoughts. 

We arrived to Nathan's house, it was luxurious and big. we stepped, and I was looking around while walking towards the living room. I looked back at Nathan and the driver. "he's James, my driver and bodyguard." Nathan said. I looked at him and looked in his shirt's pocket, there was a gun in his pocket. "and sometimes, he shares a drink with me as a friend." Nathan added.

"he'll stay with you from now on, 24/7." Nathan said. James was looking so seriuse, I mean I knew he a bodyguard and all but at least he can smile, right? 

"But I don't need security." I said to Nathan. "it's not about security, you don't know anyone in this city. and maybe not eve yourself. so I thought it's not safe for you to live here alone." Nathan said, and I smiled and looked down at my toes and looked back up at Nathan. "don't worry, you'll be safe with him." he said. "James?" Nathan commanded something to James, and he opened a briefcase and there was cash in it. "this apartment is for you, you'll have all the luxuries you want here." Nathan said. I looked back at Nathan. and James closed the briefcase  and put it on a table. "and if you need anything just tell him, he'll take car of everything, and anything"  Nathan said while looking at James. "right now you need some rest, we'll meet again." Nathan said and he was about to leave, but he turned back. 

"And yes... we don't know who your enemies are in this city, but you do have a friend." Nathan said while putting his hand on my shoulder. "thank you." I said with a smile. "look after her." he said to James and went out.

I washed the smile from my face and took my suitcase and went to my room. I took a bath for an hour, and came out and put some casual clothes on and I was standing and looking out of the window. I was thinking about a plan to take my revenge. "even my enemies live in this city." I said to myself, no one was there I was alone in the living room. "and the time has come, to make them pay for their crimes." I added. 

James came in the apartment with food, I looked at him. "have you eaten?" I asked to James. he didn't say anything. he took his eyes off me and looked on the floor. I went in front of him and crossed my arms to my chest. "what if it's poisoned?" I asked while rising one eyebrow. he looked at me up and down.  

to be honest I didn't care about the food I was making excuses to make him eat with me cuz I was feeling alone and I don't like to eat alone. "I cannot take a risk." I said. he nodded and led me the way to set. he brought the food and sat next to me on the bed, and started to eat. I was smiling, he looked at me and then looked back to his plate. 

after few hours I changed and went to the living room, James was setting on the coach and looking at his phone. "I want to go to the spa." I said to James. he didn't even looked at me. either he didn't hear me, or he was ignoring me.

"I'm talking to you." I said. still he didn't respond. "fine, I'll find one myself, but if anything happens to me...then you will answerable to Nathan Huntington." I said and turned around to leave the apartment. "wait!" he said in a deep voice. I stopped. "I'll come along too." he said, and went to the door I smiled and followed him. we arrived. "seriously, you want to came inside with me in the spa?" I said. he sighed and said. "I'll wait here." "thank you." I said and stepped out of the car and went in the spa.

I went in the spa, to the the lady who was working in the reception area. "excuse me?" I said. "yes ma'm." she said. "hi, I have an appointment, my name is cleo." I said. "please, this way." she said after checking my name in the appointment list. "this way." she said after we entered the massage room. 

"please make sure that I'm not disturbed." I said. "okay ma'm." she said, and walked out the room. the massage girl came in. and I took out a bundle of cash from my pocket. "I want you to keep this room closed for the next 2 hours, like you giving me a massage, can you do that?" I said while handing her the cash. 

Honestly, I didn't came here for massage, I came to take my first step towards my enemies. "but ma'm.." she said with a hesitation note in her voice, I doubled the cash. "sure, ma'm." she said while taking those cash. "one more thing, is there a backdoor here which I can use to go out?" I asked. "yes, ma'm." she said, and showed me the backdoor. 

I slowly went out from the backdoor. and made sure James won't notice me, he was busy with his phone, so hi didn't notice. I took a cab and went to the police station. "keep the meter on." I said to the cad driver and stepped out from the car. "excuse me." I said to the ACP Kunal's assistant. "yes, ma'm." he replied. "is ACP Kunal there?" I asked. "sir is busy in a meeting, you have to wait for awhile, I'll inform you once he's free." he said. "no need for that, give this envelope to your sir when he is free." I said while taking an envelope out from my jacket pocket. "okay, madam." he said, and I went out from there. "madam, what's your name?" he yelled while I was walking towards the exit door. but I ignored him cuz I wanted to take my revenge carefully. I didn't want anyone to know who I'm. or else I'll be in so much trouble.

I went back to the cab. the driver started to start the engine. "not yet, we have to wait here." I said to the driver. "okay, ma'm." he said. 

ACP Kunal's POV:

I was doing my work when my assistant came in my office. "sir, some lady was here. she had given this for you." he said while handing me an envelope. I opened the envelope and read what was written on the paper. "you'r being investigated, clean up your act." I read it silently and I was confused, and a little bit scared, well a lot to be honest. I looked at my assistant with my eyes wide open. "who was she? was she an officer?" I asked nervously, I thought it was my senior. "who was she?" I yelled. "it was a lady." he answered. "can't she be a officer? bloody..." I said while standing up from the chair, and went out to look who was it, there was no one in the department. "what happened, sir?" the assistant asked. 

"Where is she?" I said with a little fear one on my voice. "what?" he asked. "where is she?" I yelled at him. "she left, sir." he said. I went out from the department and was looking around to see if I can fine her. "who was it?" I asked to my self. I was looking around and took my phone out from my pocket.

   Lauren's POV: 

I saw ACP Kunal coming out from the department and he was looking around. he took his phone out. then put it back, and opened his car door and looked inside for a while, then closed it back. I can see he was nervous. from wondering who sent that envelope to him. he ran his hand throw his hair looking confused. he took a cab. "where could you possibly going ACP... that you can't take your official car?" I asked to my self while looking him stepping in the cab. "follow that cab." I said to the driver. "madam, we stay miles away from police offices, and..."

"If you want more money, then follow him." I cut him off before he complete his sentence. "okay, madam." he said and started to follow the cad in front of us. the man stoped the car in front of a house, it was ACP Kunal's house. "wait here." I said to the driver and stepped out from the car and was looking at him. 

   ACP Kunal's POV:

I went straight to my home, to my girlfrined. "Mona, pack your bags." I said to her while walking towards her. "you have to leave for your village right now." I said to her. I was worried about her, I can't let anything happen to her. she was my only family. "but why should I go to the village?" she asked. "don't you understand everything at ones? I said you're leaving for the village, means that you're leaving." I yelled at her. "there is a problem, which I can't discuss right now, we can't meet for the next few days." I added. "why? why can't we meet? we only meet twice a week, and even that taxing for you?" she said angrily. "did you find someone else or do you want to get rid of me?" she asked. "will you stop bantering? listen to me carefully, I'm being investigated. one wrong step and I can lose my job, and you'll go down with me, understand."

I said sweating from the nervousness. "you could have said that politely as well." she said while coming towards me and put her hand around my waist. "my angry young man." she said after kissing my cheek. "I said it politely now, come on, get ready and pack your bags." I said while taping on her shoulders. "where I'll go all alone? you can take me wherever you want, I don't have a place to hide." she said. "fine, I'll come back after midnight, there will be less people around, and it'll be easier for us to leave. keeps your bags packed until then. okay?" I said to her and went out back to the police department.

     Lauren's POV:

I went to the enters door of Kunal's house he was talking to someone I think it's his girlfriend, he was asking her to leave the city. then he left I was hiding behind the tree in their garden.

    James's POV:

I was waiting for Lauren. she took so long, she have to be doe by now, it was almost 2 hours. I decided to go in the spa to ask if she finished or not. before I go inside, Lauren came out and we bumped into each other. "I didn't even stumble, and you came to give me you shoulder." she said and I moves too the side to let her go to the car and so did I. 

"people normally look fresh after coming back from the spa, but you look like you've been running around." I said while looking at her from the mirror. she didn't looked fresh I mean her light, simple make up was still on her face. "so don't look, I'm Nathan Huntington's friend, and not yours." she said with anger tone. I looked back at the road and driver back to the apartment.
