14. Venice, the floating city.

Venice,1975:March 22nd

The day was very special as the expecting mother finally gave birth to her bundle of joy,Camelia. The family was thrilled and no one had gotten over her beautiful emerald eyes. Everyone had taken to her like fish to water because of her endless giggles and everlasting smiles. No one didn't know Camy,she was a thrill and everyone adored her. Her single mother didn't have a problem raising her as everyone helped in raising her in the small town they called home. As years went by,the little girl flourished into a beautiful young woman who stole the hearts of a million men only to be claimed by one. Harris Mayfield had captured her heart in a minute since their first meeting and swept her off her feet immediately. Eight months after and they were happily married moving to a nearby town.

Two years down the road and Camy was expecting her second child. Life seemed to be smiling down at them and everything was going well. Harris however outgrew the small town and wanted back in the city. He left his wife and two children with a heavy heart embarking on a journey to the city to achieve his dreams. He would call everyday enquiring about them and eventually the distance got to them. Days turned into weeks,weeks turned into months and months turned into a year and no word came from him.It got worse when an outbreak of chicken pox occurred in the town and Camy's first born showed signs and symptoms. The outbreak worsened claiming lives of billions including her first child and worse of all the second died immediately after. Camy grieved her children with utter bitterness as no word had come from their father. After two years and ten days,Harris found his way home to find his wife beaten by life red puffy eyes and all hell broke lose. She wouldn't understand why he had not come early and he barely had a word to say as he had wished to be welcomed by his beautiful rays of sunshine,Young Lia and the charming Sebastian Harris. She weeped endlessly each night and he couldn't do a thing to comfort her. When the time for him to go back to town came he left with a heavier heart dreading to leave his wife alone. Years went by and the couple drifted apart and soon enough his endless stay in town didn't bother Camy as much as it used to. Harris then put forth his dreams to become Senator and when the right time came he put forth all his strength to take the position. It was all welcoming by his family but no dream was valid in the big city with no money. Days went by but hopeless Harris just saw his dream vanish into thin air. He was gonna let go of his dream until one evening he met a woman. The woman was beautiful ,well clad and had money screaming out off her. Rather than the fact that she couldn't take her eyes off Harris, everything just seemed to be going his way. That night he went back home to celebrate with his wife being he had found a perfect sponsor for his prospectus. He left the next morning unknowingly to him leaving his wife pregnant. Camy couldn't be happier when she learned about it and couldn't wait to tell him but she wanted to surprise him so she would save up and visit him. By the fourth month her belly was showing and she made a trip to the city. On arrival she met a work friend of Harris who took her to the mansion he supposedly lived in. As she approached the mansion she couldn't miss the happiness that radiated from the place. There were decorations everywhere and just by the mansion's door was Harris with a pregnant blonde in his arms. They were laughing and he would occasionally reach out and peek her on the cheek. Camy couldn't believe her eyes and when a maid passed by the gate to grab stuff from a truck that was outside,her worse nightmare had just come to life. Supposedly, Mr Harris was getting married to the blonde,Ms Alexei, who was his fiancée in three days and the wedding would take place after he was put in office as the Senator which would take place in two days time.

Years went by and little Alisa and her mother Camy never had a word from her father the renowned Senator. Camy would sometimes weep but forget it all for her bundle of joy and she worked her ass off to give her baby everything. That was until she was diagnosed with Cancer when Lisa was fifteen years old.
