Serena My hand went to my lips. The night had piles up with its list of surprises but this was the greatest of them all. My breath caught in my throat as Damien knelt before me, his eyes wide with hope and expectation. Time slowed. I blinked, trying to process what was happening but it felt like my brain was lagging behind. Like it was unable to catch up with the reality unfolding in front of me. This wasn’t happening.
