After Stephen's departure, there wasn't much left to do; Dereck called me to sleep.
“You’re exhausted; you need to rest.”
“Yes, I really need to rest, but I want to be with my mom,” I sighed, feeling very tired.
“I would like to be with you there, but it will not be possible to stay in the room; I am not your mom's relatives; the doctors will not accept me.”
“That's true. But if you can, stay here with Averie and Sandy, don’t leave them alone, take care of them.”
“It’s okay, baby, I’ll stay here,” he said, giving me a kiss on the forehead and a hug goodnight. “Everything’s going to be okay.”
