Chapter Ten The Lost Tribe Barlo’s startled yelp pulled Iarion from his thoughts. His gaze followed the dwarf’s pointing arm. A horse-like creature with a long neck was munching leaves from the top of a tree. Its creamy hide was spotted with irregular brown marks and it had a tail like a cow’s. The beast ignored them, seeming intent on its meal. It was only one of the many strange creatures they had seen during their trek across the plains. There were beasts that reminded Iarion of antelope that had long, graceful horns, and wildcats with spots. Some had hairy manes.
