CHAPTER 7: Human Hatred

1203 Words
MARGARET KNEW THAT LUCIEL WAS STARING AT HER so the latter was already prepared when she looked at him. His eyes once again glisten in faint red and as he smiled seductively at Margaret. The girl immediately blushed, tucked her stray hair behind her ear, and smiled. She slightly bit her lower lip as she went back to her seat. “I told you. I could really feel that that transfer student has hots on me. Just look at how he stares at me.” Margaret turned her head to Luciel once again. He kept on smiling at her and slightly waved his hand. “See, I told you. He likes me.” “Girl, we know he’s out of this world handsome and cool you know but did you forget? She’s Romina Cristi’s cousin. He’s technically Luciel 'Cristi' Damon. Romina's blood relative.” “And so? I don’t care about that weird, idiotic girl. I like Luciel and he likes me too and that’s all that matters. He’ll gonna be my boyfriend in no time.” She giggled and talked to her friends about the assumption that he likes her. Luciel couldn’t help but smirk, his fangs slightly peeked in his mouth. “Hey, Luciel.” Both Romina and Luciel turned their heads towards Margaret and her friends, Denise and Carol. Margaret secretly glared at Romina and even widen her eyes to make her signal clear. Fuck off. Get out of our sight. That actually made Romina lower her head and moved farther from Luciel. Her guardian side-eyed her before he faced Margaret who was obviously hitting on him right now. He couldn’t help but smirk. “Humans are indeed pathetic... greedy… selfish.” “I know you’re Luciel Damon so no need for you to introduce your name to me. We have a long way to go to know each other, you know? And I know you don’t know me so let me introduce myself,” Margaret started their conversation with her introducing herself and offering her hand to him for a handshake. “I’m Margaret. Margaret Andrada. Remember that name, okay?” “Of course, I will,” Luciel responded as he accepted her hand and shook it. “Nice to meet you, Margaret.” Margaret giggled, trying so hard to act cute in front of him which actually made Romina puke by just watching at them. Huh, she’s acting like an angel in front of other people, especially the attractive ones and she’ll act like a devil towards me. Huh. What clownery. And this Luciel, he’s acting as if he’s pure. Acting and projecting an angel face in front of her but he’s actually a demon. Can he just show his demon face instead? Seriously, he’s attracting so many people just because he’s “handsome” and “gorgeous” it’s starting to get annoying. Luciel couldn’t help but chuckle at how Romina actually complains about her bully’s attitude but can’t even stand up on her own to defend herself. Such a baby. Assuming that Luciel was happy about meeting her, Margaret smiled at him with flushed cheeks. “Say, can I have your number?” “Number?” Luciel asked, repeating the last word she uttered. “I don’t have one.” “How about social media accounts? Like, you know, f******k? **? Twitter? t****k? Snapchat?” Luciel shook his head and shyly smiled at the girl. Of course, it was a full façade to make the girl fall for him. “I’m sorry but I don’t have any of those. I’m quite… you know, not that sociable.” “Oh, is that so? How sad it is…” “But…” Luciel slowly and gently held her chin and make her look into his eyes. His brown eyes once again turned into a faint but glistening shade of red once again. “I could make time with you… just to know each other.” “Y-Yes…” Margaret muttered subconsciously. “Yes, I’d love that.” “Well, then,” Luciel smirked and let go of her face. “See ya,” he waved his hand and walked away from her and her friends who were obviously screaming behind him. He couldn’t help but smirk as he walked towards Romina who started to walk ahead of him after his conversation with Margaret. When he finally walked side by side with her, she spoke. “You seemed so fond of each other, huh? You seemed to like her as well.” “I don’t have that human emotion such as liking someone, especially a human. Oh, wait. Is that jealousy am I hearing from you?” Luciel asked, obviously teasing her. “Uh, no. I was actually hoping that you’ll go to her so will not pester me anymore,” Romina responded and she rolled her eyes. “Well, unfortunately. I’ll stick with you since I am your guardian angel. You have to deal with it,” he told her as he slid his left hand onto his pants pocket. “And besides, no matter how beautiful that human looks, her soul is rotten. I kinda admit a tainted soul is actually delicious for us demons but I find it nasty. I have my own taste.” “Choosy much, huh?” Romina muttered as both of them turned to the silent east wing of their building. “If you don’t like Margaret, especially her soul in general, then what do you like then?” Romina noticed that her side was empty—Luciel was not walking with her. She turned her head towards him before facing him fully. “What?” “If I were to devour a soul,” he gently cupped Romina’s left cheek. “It’ll be yours,” he leaned towards her, his lips inches away from her which almost made her breathless as she stood up in front of him, frozen. “I want to taste such pure, sweet soul.” Romina frowned. “What? You’re seriously scaring me right now.” “I just want to say that you don’t have to worry about me devouring your soul. It’s not like we’re in a contract and you’re willing to give your soul to me and besides, I am your guardian. I am protecting you. So you don’t need to worry,” he told her then he finally let her go. “Let’s go. We’ll be going to be late for class.” Romina made a face. “Seriously, what the cupcake’s name is wrong with him? Ugh, that demon—HEY, WAIT FOR ME!” she ran-walked towards his direction until she was finally able to catch up. As soon as she caught up, Luciel faced her and with a grin, he was walking backward while staring at her. She even showed her fist at him and he just laughed. Little did they know, there’s Margaret actually followed them, glaring and burning holes behind Romina’s head. “How could be you be close and intimate to him like that when you’re obviously cousins?! I hate you. I hate you to the core, Romina. And I’ll make you suffer forgetting what is mine!
