CHAPTER 14: The Angel Named Simeon

1060 Words
“Simeon…” An angel? Romina stared at the angel shining in front of Luciel in so much astonishment. “It’s been a long time since we last saw each other, Luciel,” the angel named Simeon smiled at him as he carried the unconscious Marivic securely using his right arm while his left hand was occupied with an apparition struggling because of the golden chains around him. “How many centuries since we last saw each other? I totally forgot.” Eh? Centuries? That’s how old they are? Wow. Romina just kept staring at them. They looked like they’re on the same age as me. “It doesn’t matter,” Luciel responded. “It’s not like we’re close friends to talk about the past anyway.” “Haah. I already did expect you would say that after you left and became a demon you are right now.” Romina couldn’t help but frown on what she just heard from the angel. Wait, what? They knew each other and what did that angel say? Luciel glared at the angel. “Stop.” “And after you become one, you decided to roam around in the human’s world and even laid your hand on the human I’m supposed to guard? I just can’t tolerate that,” Simeon’s face changed into a serious one after he said those words. With his power, he summoned some sort of bed cloud and let the unconscious Marivic lie there. After doing some sort of protective seal around her, he immediately faced Luciel while pointing his heavenly, celestial golden, and silver sword at him. “I’ve known you for as long as I could remember but I won’t tolerate this deed that you’ve done.” Luciel smirked at him. “As if I’ll cower because of what you said, angel.” “Wait!” Romina yelled to stop them because the whole situation got misunderstood by this angel named Simeon but before she could even stop Luciel, he already attacked Simeon with his sword from the underworld. “Wait! Stop! Stop fighting! This is pure misunderstandings—hey! Argh, such hard heads!” The two guardians fought up the air, with their powers emitting with the same strength and intensity. Luciel managed to attack Simeon but the angel managed to doge it so the latter got a chance to attack Luciel. Of course, Luciel got hit on that but that didn’t put him down and he continued to fight the angel. “Luciel stop!!!” Romina shouted at them as they intensely fought up in the air, still emitting their powers which she obviously felt and could tell that they were powerful on that. “The both of you!!! Stop!!!” The two guardians met with their swords. Luciel gave the angel Simeon a cocky smirk on his face. “I don’t intend to lose against an angel like yourself.” “Still arrogant us ever, huh, Luciel?” Simeon managed to push Luciel out of his face and was about to hit Luciel but the demon managed to dodge it as he landed on someone’s roof as well as Simeon just meters away from him. "As expected." Luciel smirked at Simeon once again and he attacked as well. They fought using their swords up in the air once again. Luciel managed to hit Simeon which he felt so triumphant about it but the angel suddenly disappeared in front of him. “Wait what—” “Are you sure you can bring me down with this low combat experience, you demon?” He almost got caught off guard when the angel finally went up just above his head and he thought he’ll be going to get stabbed but luckily, he managed to dodge it but his sword got thrown away. Before he could even draw some feathers just to pierce on the angel, he was kicked by the angel then got punched then got kicked then got punched and kicked so many times until he was kicked down to the ground, making a huge crater on the vacant lot’s ground. Romina was scared and shocked by what she witnessed but she still managed to stand and run towards Luciel who already sat up, coughing and wincing in pain. She knew that if Luciel got hit by human actions or such, it’s not painful for him. Not at all. But if he’ll encounter a celestial being, he could actually end up in a situation like this. She immediately went to Luciel’s aid and slightly touched him on the shoulder. “Luciel, are you okay?” He looked at her and smiled with his usual cocky smile. “Yeah, I am. This is just some scratch, you know?” Luciel immediately felt Simeon’s presence so he quickly covered Romina, hiding her on his back. “Stay back.” Simeon just went down and silently walked towards Luciel who’s now in his slightly messy state. With a serious face, he pointed his celestial sword to the former. “Give up now, Luciel, or else, I won’t hesitate to exterminate you right here, right now.” Before Luciel could even respond (to which he actually planned to respond in a rude manner), Romina suddenly stood up in front of him and opened her arms wide, as if she’s protecting Luciel. Eyes wide, Luciel called Romina. “Romina! What the heck are you doing?! Go away!” “What are you doing, child? Stay away from that demon. He’s dangerous,” Simeon told her. “Even if I love angels so much since I was a kid, I don’t care anymore. I don’t want anyone, especially you to harm or hurt Luciel,” Romina told the angel in front of her bravely. “Even if you’re an angel, I won’t let you lay a single finger nor point a deadly weapon on my guardian.” Confused and surprised, Simeon asked. “Your… guardian?” Brave enough, Romina responded to him. “Yes, he’s the guardian that got assigned to me. And even if he’ll be the one to guard and protect me, that’s not a valid reason that I’ll let anyone, especially you yourself can harm my guardian. You don’t have the right to attack him because of pure misunderstandings. No one dares, even angels, to hurt my guardian.”
