*LUNA KIARA: BOOK 2 - CHAPTER 6*
_Title: Under The Palace_
The window was still open.
_Luna_ dropped down. No magic to soften the fall this time. Her ankle twisted. She bit her lip so she wouldn’t cry out.
Cael caught her. “Told you we’d need a ladder.”
“Shut up.” But she was smiling.
He held up the paper again. The new X was under the royal crypt. Under her great-grandmother’s tomb.
“Why would it move there?” _Luna_ whispered.
“Because that’s where it started,” Cael said. “With Alina.”
They ran through the empty halls. No guards. No hum. Just their footsteps.
The crypt doors were heavy. Cold.
Inside: rows of Kiara kings and queens. Marble. Dust.
And in the center, _Queen Alina Kiara_’s tomb.
The stone lid was cracked.
From inside it, something was breathing.
_Luna_ stepped forward. No gold in her hands now. Just a dagger.
Cael put a hand on her shoulder. “Wait—”
Too late.
The lid slid off.
It wasn’t a body.
It was a *girl*. 16. Asleep.
Black hair. Pale skin. And on her wrist... a crown birthmark.
Half gold. Half black.
The girl opened her eyes. Both colors.
She looked at _Luna_. Then at Cael.
*"You took too long,"* she said in a voice like two people talking at once.
*"I’m so tired of waiting."*
The torches went out.
From the darkness behind the tomb, the gold hum started again.
But this time it sounded wrong. Hungry.
The girl stood up. She wasn’t in shackles. She was _part_ of the tomb.
*"My name is Alina,"* she said. *"The first one. And you, little cousin... you broke my lock."*
Cael pulled _Luna_ back. “Run.”
But the crypt doors slammed shut.
Alina smiled. *"Now we fix it. The right way. With both of you."*

_Title: The Deal_
The crypt doors wouldn’t budge.
First Alina circled them, bare feet not making a sound. “200 years I’ve been asleep in that stone. Listening to my family lie.”
She stopped in front of _Luna_. Touched the bare spot on her wrist where the gold used to be. “You gave it up. Stupid girl.”
_Luna_ didn’t flinch. “I saved people.”
“You saved _them_,” Alina said. “Not us.”
She turned to Cael. “And you. The other half. You feel it too, don’t you? The empty.”
Cael’s jaw tightened. “What do you want?”
Alina smiled. “A trade. I give you back your magic. Both of you. Gold and black. I take your place in the tomb for 20 more years. After that... I walk free.”
She spread her hands. “Or. You fight me now. No magic. And I kill you both. Then I walk free anyway.”
Silence.
_Luna_ looked at Cael. He looked at her.
“Deal,” _Luna_ said.
Cael grabbed her arm. “No—”
“Yes.” _Luna_ met Alina’s two-colored eyes. “But we do it our way. No tricks.”
Alina laughed. *"Clever. Like me."*

_Title: Blood and Stone_
Alina cut her palm. Black and gold blood dripped onto the tomb.
“Your turn.”
_Luna_ cut her hand. No magic. Just red.
Cael did the same.
The three drops hit the stone and it _screamed_.
Light exploded. Gold from _Luna_. Black from Cael.
It shot into Alina’s chest. She threw her head back and laughed.
When it stopped, _Luna_’s wrist burned. The crown was back. Gold.
Cael’s wrist too. Black.
But Alina... she looked younger. Stronger.
“And now,” she whispered, “the debt is paid.”
The crypt doors blew open.
Queen Mara and King Damien stood there with 20 guards.
Mara saw Alina and went pale. “Mother?”
Alina looked at her descendant. “Hello, Mara.”

_Title: Family_
Chaos.
Guards charged. Alina raised a hand and they flew back. No effort.
“Stop!” _Luna_ yelled. Gold flared from her hands. “She’s not hurting anyone!”
Alina turned to her. “Aren’t I?”
She looked at Mara. “You told her I was a monster. That I cursed us.”
Mara drew her sword. “You did.”
“I _saved_ us,” Alina hissed. “From what was in that mirror. I split it so it couldn’t kill our whole line. And you locked me up for it.”
King Damien stepped between them. “Enough.”
He looked at Alina. “If you wanted to be free, why come back for them?”
Alina’s expression flickered. For a second she looked 16 again. Tired.
“Because the thing in the mirror isn’t gone. It’s just waiting. And it only listens to Kiara blood.”
She looked at _Luna_. “To me. And to you.”
Outside, the bells rang. Not a warning. A funeral toll.
Alina’s head snapped up. “It found a new body.”

_Title: The Vessel_
The throne room.
All the court was there. Frozen.
In the middle of the room, standing on the throne, was a girl.
15. Palace servant. Eyes completely black.
The mirror-girl. But not in a mirror anymore.
*"Hello, family,"* she said with _Luna_’s voice.
*"Thank you for the new house."*
Alina walked in and stopped. Her face went blank.
“So. It jumped.”
The vessel-girl smiled. *"You made me stronger when you split me, Alina. Two halves. Easier to grab."*
She looked at _Luna_ and Cael. *"And now I have two keys. Come here."*
Cael stepped in front of _Luna_. Black energy crackled in his hand.
_Luna_’s gold flared too.
The vessel-girl tilted her head. *"Or I could just take your parents first."*
Behind her, Queen Mara and King Damien couldn’t move. Black vines held them to the floor.
_Luna_’s hands shook. Magic back. But not enough. Not for this.
Alina sighed. “Looks like we’re a team, kids.”
She cracked her knuckles. Gold AND black swirled around her.
“Try not to die. I just got out.”
The vessel-girl jumped off the throne.
*"Let’s play."*
